My go-to nail tech was out of town, and I desperately needed my acrylics removed because they were extremely overgrown, lifting, and starting to hurt. This salon is literally within walking distance of my house, so I figured I’d give it a try until I could make it back to my regular salon to have a new set put on. Before going in, I called to make sure they weren’t too busy and to confirm they even offered acrylic removal since their Facebook page was vague and just said ā€œmani and pedi.ā€ The woman on the phone told me to give them about 15 minutes and come on in. I arrived about 20 minutes later—it’s only a three-minute drive. I was greeted, which was nice, and told to give them a minute. That ā€œminuteā€ turned into another 15-20 minutes before I was told to sit down. After sitting, someone put a towel in front of me and walked away. I waited another 8 minutes or so before a tech came over. When she finally started talking to me, she abruptly cut me off mid-answer with, ā€œOne minute,ā€ then walked away to chat with another customer. At this point, my first impression was already going downhill. I typically don’t go anywhere with less than a 4.6-star rating, but given the proximity, I took a chance. The only other nearby salon is B.A.B.Y Nails—and their reviews explain why I didn’t go there. Once the tech came back, I explained that two of my nails had already ripped off, painfully. She started filing down the gel polish, which was expected and normal. But then she did something I have never experienced in 25+ years of getting my nails done: she started cutting the corners of the acrylic and using a tip to pop them off. It was painful, my natural nails looked more damaged than ever, and I was shocked. When I told her it hurt and asked why she wasn’t soaking them off, she said, ā€œOh, I didn’t know if you were in a hurry. I should’ve asked, or you could’ve told me.ā€ What?! At no point did I say or imply that I was in a hurry. Very unprofessional and very strange. By the time she asked if I wanted to switch to soaking, there were only a few nails left, so I declined. She tried to convince me this was a normal technique and that ā€œlots of salons do it.ā€ I’ve been to six different salons over the years, and not one has ever done acrylic removal like this. The price was another shock. This place is the most expensive salon I’ve ever been to—and for what? The vibe didn’t match the cost at all. What really turned me off was seeing that they charge extra for men to get a pedicure. Absolutely ridiculous. When I left, I immediately called three other local salons to ask how they remove acrylics and whether this technique is ever used. Every single one said, ā€œAbsolutely not, that causes damage to the natural nail.ā€ Now I’m even more frustrated knowing I overpaid for an incorrect and harmful removal. Thankfully, my regular nail tech is amazing and will get my nails healthy again, but I wanted to leave this review to warn others: Stick to the places and people who know what they’re doing. I will never go anywhere but BeLoved Nails again.

I first visited redPOLISH 9 years ago, looking to treat myself to a mani/pedi before heading to the hospital to have my first baby. I decided to check it out because it was a mile down the street from where I lived. I was happy with the service and returned for another once I was able to and became a regular. Then, 4 years ago, I moved roughly 15 minutes away - and while I have numerous salons closer to my new house, I still make the drive for my monthly visits!

Dz is my go-to for dip, but I’ve also had services from Cherie, Beo, and others over the years. And, every single time, I’ve left happy. The entire team is kind, talented, and professional. They use high-quality products, take their time, and truly care about their clients.

If I could give 10 āļøs, I would. They...

Had to change my review ... sad to say I thought I found the perfect place but the last few times I’ve been there (tried to give them several chances) but by far terrible pedicures, this last one was so bad I had to go and have it redone by someone else (I don’t even know how the gentlemen let me leave looking at my feet the way he left them. Staff is so friendly so this review breaks my heart a little.

(Previous review: Best place by far that I have been to. All of the staff is very friendly and...
