Service was awful.
Walked in - walked over to the sign saying "wait to be seated". The cashier asked me what I needed and when I told her I was waiting to be seated and pointed at the sign then showed her 2 fingers and she asked if I was alone. DIDN"T GET BETTER
Over the course of our meal which took (start to finish 2 hours - most of which was waiting for our food we were greeted by 7 different waitress/waiters/cooks) and only talked to the same person 3 times.
Waitress 1 - we told her it was our first time here and she said "well welcome then" and walked away. She returned with 2 waters and had someone else bring a second set of plate/silverware to the table. She came back about 20 minutes later and took our order.
Waitress 2 after about 30 min of waiting for our food she came up to the table and asked if we were doing ok. WHAT IS THE POINT OF THAT? I turned and told her - - um - - just waiting on our food. She did not say anything else but walked away while I responded.
Someone else brought the appetizer out and sat it down and left the table without a word. My husband attempted to move the bowl - - by the handle - and blistered his thumb after which he warned me it was really hot. WAITER SAID NOTHING
Less than 2 minutes later (after our appetizer was on the table) our pizza arrived by yet another person.
1 bite of pizza and another random person walked up and asked us if the food was good but walked away before we could swallow our bites and speak.
After finishing our food...we had to waive the waitress (that took our order) down so we could get the check. About 10 min later when she returned we had to press the card into her hand so she wouldn't run off again.
When she came back with the card about 10 minutes later she provided a box and at that point decided to tell us that we should have gotten one of the sandwiches instead because they were better. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???
I am not an unreasonable person - - if they had been busy - - I would have extended more patience...and I do realize that a number of restaurants now separate their duties between wait staff and food staff but REALLY? When you have random people ask service questions but run away before you can answer and others that don't say anything at all when they come to the table and should have....YEAH.
Food - - Pizza toppings were not even. They put one slice of pepperoni, one slice of salami per slice of pizza and then smothered it with black olives and banana peppers. You couldn't taste anything other than the peppers and olives. The appetizer was good but it shouldn't come to the table hot enough to blister the skin (probably microwaved) without some warning.
For what worked out as a 40.00 dinner - we should have bought the 5 dollar deal at the local Little Cesar's and...

So I've been an Old Shawnee customer since 2004 going to the Shawnee location all of the time until I moved to Lenexa at which point I frequented the Lenxa location always. After last week that will no longer be the case.
The should call their Tuesday special the Toss up pizza special meaning you order what you want but you will actually get some sort of combination of the toppings on either pizza. Both of my pizzas were incorrect so we ended up picking most of the toppings off.
Ordering over the phone was a challenging since the person taking the order had no idea that there is more than 1 type of sausage offered. Employees knowing their own menu would be good. I arrive and wanted to pay with my gift card through egiftia. I handed my phone to the cashier and the cashier ended up charging me twice for my order which left my gift card balance to zero. I was able to talk the manager into writing a paper gift card for the balance owed.
Got home and after noticing the pizzas were incorrect I called. The manager offered to send me gift certs through my email/egiftia? I called again after not seeing them the next day. A different manager took my address down and told me he would send them in the mail. It's almost been a week and still nothing. Perhaps they will arrive next week, or maybe the week after.
Since Jason the old manager left, this location has been riddled with inconsistencies. Whether it's time before pickup will be ready(15 minutes turns into 25 minutes or 25 minutes and the pizzas were done in 15 minutes) or the consistency of the cook of the pizza it's almost never the same. This was not a problem with this location even last year. If I go to Little Caesars and get a cheap pizza for $6 and it's wrong fine whatever. But if I shell out almost $40 for food I expect it to be correct and kind of consistent. Furthermore, if you aren't going to honor incorrect pizzas don't tell me you will take care of it twice then just forget about it. That implies to me that you either don't give a crap about a repeat customer, or you think I'm lying and am trying to get free food which is hilarious since I've been going to Old...
Read moreI’m guessing Mgmt either fails to read or reply to reviews, and/or they just don’t care. $70 yesterday for one large pizza, one appetizer (cheese dip), one child’s Mac n cheese, and one soda. $70. The pizza crust was so dried out and burned but we’d already waited 30 minutes so tried to piece off the few toppings that weren’t burned. Sauce had dried up and the crust was inedible. It was too hard and burnt. It was just before 6pm and the place was packed. Service was so slow that the ice in our water glasses melted long before the food arrived. The kicker was that the kid’s Mac n cheese didn’t come out until half the pizza, well, toppings were gone … and the Mac n cheese was room temperature. I cannot imagine what keeps people coming back to this joint as the pizza is just terrible and the service is sooooo slowwwwwww. Our waitress was polite tho, but she had to have seen just how horrible our pizza turned out. I tried to find a Mgr but they were probably hiding in a back room, drowning their embarrassment in a lovely glass of room temperature water. All jokes aside, this place is frankly the worst pizza restaurant we have ever visited, worse than the old Sbarro’s (remember those slices??) and sadly much worse than any Domino’s or Pizza Hut in memory. I left a nice tip anyway because it wasn’t the server’s fault, but nothing could force me or my family back to this...
