Used Ace hardware to build new doors and front panels on our shed. The first handyman did not build the doors and ramp properly using only plywood and no framing. The old latch was reinstalled at the top and it was a matter of days before the doors and ramp warped so badly we couldn't close and latch the doors. We were very unhappy with these results and felt the job that was done was not worth what we paid. Bob soon came out to take a look and Janice scheduled another craftsman to redo the job. The doors and latch were structurally sound and looked good. The craftsman left without painting the doors which was part of the job so we had to schedule another person to come out. All in all, we are now happy with the job, but it took some time with all of the delays and scheduling. I have to say that with the issues we have had, both Janice and Bob were understanding of our frustration and needs and were very accommodating in resolving the problems we...
Read moreThis is the second time I have used Ace Handyman and had another great experience. I had a window that would not close, and after several attempts to fix it myself, gave up and called Ace Handyman. They got me an appointment within a couple of days. Dan showed up on time and was very knowledgeable about windows and repairs. After a thorough inspection and checking his truck for spare parts, it was determined that the best option was to order replacement parts directly from the window manufacturer and have him come back to do the repair. He did get the window to close before leaving. The replacement parts arrived yesterday and I plan to have Dan come back out to do the repair within the next couple of weeks. Dan was friendly and polite and knows his stuff!
Highly recommend; it’s great to have this service available for people like me who aren’t very handy!
Update: Dan came back about 2 weeks later and finished the job!...
Read moreThe prior reviews were so promising. I am disappointed to need to leave my negative experience here. We had a simple job, install two mirrors. After a couple of days of phone tag we nailed down an appointment for 1pm on a Monday. I took the day off work to be home for it. At 1:18pm I get a call informing me that the guy wont be coming today, he can't make it. Fair enough, I say. I understand these things happen. I am told I will be called in 1 hour to schedule a new appointment. That call never comes. At 4:30pm I call back asking what's up. The guy says he doesnt have his calendar in from of him now but will call me later. Its now the next day and I havent heard a peep. I guess my time, money, and project weren't valuable enough to merit the courtesy of a follow up after a no-show. Maybe they will value your time....but why take the chance? Plenty of honest and communicative contractors out there....I would just pass on...
