This is the second time Iāve been here and both times were bad experiences with employees just being rude and disrespectful towards me. This time I left in tears. I was in the back ready to pay with cash and after the person is front of me was done I waited a few minutes before nicely and with a smile on my face went up to the available desk lady and asked if she was ready for me, she frowned and coldly said, āIāll let you know when Iām ready for you.ā So I went and sat back down while I overheard her talk with her coworkers and joke around and smiling. When she did call me up she was still unhappy to see me and I nicely explained I tried emailing my lease to the email listed on the papers in the waiting area but it kept saying the email didnāt exist, the lady huffed and gestured to the sign in front of her and said āwell itās that one, I sure hope thatās the one you were usingā. I apologized for the delay and sent my lease to the address which I realized I just forgot one of the letters in the email. I emailed it over and she told me she couldnāt use that lease because my landlord hadnāt signed it, I understood that and apologized again. She rudely told me to find a bank statement or something to send her, while I was scrambling looking for something, her and her coworker were happy and joyfully talking about sausage egg biscuits and parfaits. Then I gave up and explained that since I just moved my bank statements donāt reflect my new address yet and she rolled her eyes and told me to come back some other time. I promptly got up with tears welling in my eyes and apologized again and I over heard a coworker say to her as I was leaving, āa waste of timeā. That was totally uncalled for. I understand these people that work here get treated terribly all day but I did not deserve to have someone act like they didnāt even want to be in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis I intend to be a well-deserved scathing review. I pity those of you who are reading this though because weāre talking about a government service, not a business in which you can decide as to whether you wish to be a patron.
The service here is simply abysmal all-around; the law requires you change your address within 10 days of moving (cannot be done by mail, I asked). But this place; even though the website says walk-ins are okay, will treat you like a leper if you show up without an appointment. NEWSFLASH though, itās impossible to get an appointment with every spot booked on the calendar on the Drive KY site. I arrived in the morning and an extremely rude brunette woman, who left walk-ins waiting in the freezing cold for 30 mins, to just come over and say thereās no spots for any of us, try again in the afternoon.
Well, go back at 1pm, same rude brunette woman, who again treats walk-ins like the evil dead, tells all the walk-ins youāre out of luck, try again next week. Now this is bad enough in itself, but this place holds the inconvenient hours of 8-4 M-F; so, if you work a normal business hours job like myself youāre having to take off time to go over there; just to be sent away, to taking off work again to try again, all in hopes of getting a spot. This assumes that they even really accept walk inās; I think this evil lady is just trolling people to inconvenience folks for her own sadistic satisfaction.
Here I am, expired license with an old address because of this totally unacceptable and broken government service. I wish I had some practical advice to leave you with; but I donāt, I truly pity all of you who are in a similar boat as myself that needs to visit this place without an appointment to get a renewed license. But again; drive.ky says you donāt need an appointment, but wait until you go...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUnbelievably frustrating experience getting a new license,
from the ambiguous and conflicting information online (so much that it necessitates a phone call )
to the state level fielding calls (put on hold twice for a combined 20+ minutes only to be told I need to call a different number, even though I called the number listed online to call with the questions I'm asking)
to the disorganized line system outside the building (I'll gladly donate some rope and sticks to help differentiate the various lines and to ensure that those who don't mean to be standing in line aren't actually standing in line, thereby causing people who think they're getting in line behind them to be delayed actually getting in line; believe me, you don't want to be delayed here)
to the callousness and inflexibility of the individual managing check-in (I don't have unrealistic expectations when dealing with government entities, I really don't. But showing an ounce of flexibility with a delayed arrival (I'm talking mere minutes) that was contributed to by their own systems would do wonders to improve some perceptions of such government entities. If this person even acted like they cared or made an effort to accommodate, it would go a long way. Or perhaps I do have unrealistic expectations.)
The only reason for me not giving a 1-star review is the gentleman working outside today in the red shirt. I truly felt that you wanted to help us and I sensed your compassion for our situation. I hope you have a positive impact on others there (especially the one with...
