MJ Appliances — Local services in Lexington

After just over a year of having my washer, I am fed up and am having to buy a replacement. But will not even consider coming back here due to the lack of quality and service that they guarantee.

I am all about supporting small businesses but will also point out if a business is taking this support for granted. These guys are nice during the sales process and claim to back their appliances with service and support but after dealing with their "service" and appliance, it was quickly revealed that that both their product and service is over time is not quality. I have unfortunately found out the hard way that they just paint over the imperfections on the outsides of these washers and the service just fixed one issue and left two more.

After the initial purchase, I was excited! I got sold on really well. The washer started having complications about 6 months after buying it. It would spin and make a terribly loud squeaking noise. I called thinking I had warranty to get it fixed. Apparently, there was no record. After the guy did some digging, he called back and said it has expired, okay no problem. So I paid a service fee and scheduled to have it hauled off and serviced, when they delivered it back, the noise issue was fixed but the bleach tray was missing. After calling them and texting the guy, he told me that the washer didn't have it in the first place. I had to go back and sent him the initial video that showed that it indeed had one. So they drove and delivered it to me.

After a few washes, I noticed that the washer would shift about 6-8 inches to the side after every wash. They didnt install the feet back on to the front of the washer to keep it stable and it one place. After calling and texting again, I was told to just buy stabilizers for it. At this point I didnt want to bother any more. The exposed threads on the bottom of the washer have left skid marks in my floor. And because the unit has been shaking and shifting so aggressively, you can see the rust from the inner parts settled...

Bought a clothes dryer and it made noise. Called American and they had a very nice man here in an hour. He solved the problem and was very courteous. So I did 3 loads which took quite a while to dry. Called the store and in an hour the repairman looked at it and said that he couldn't find anything wrong but they would take it back and give me another one. Later I got a call that the machine was running well and that I might have a problem with the electric. Had it looked at and found that the problem was the electric. Texted the store and told them that it was my fault and that I would pay them for the cost of my mistake. They were very nice and said that they would like a good review, so here it is, these people are the most helpful and courteous people that I have done business with for years and I would definitely recommend American appliance to anyone who needs a good washer, dryer,...

Sold me a washer that didn’t work, replaced it with another one… it didn’t work either! Refused to give my money back and even put his finger in my face and said no over and over when I wanted my money back instead of another one that I figured wouldn’t work like the first 2! Their technician even came to my house to verify that it wouldn’t work and he called the store and told them it had a busted water pump and they still gave me a hard time! And they had the nerve to tell me that I didn’t know how to operate and they had the nerve to tell me that I didn’t know how to operate a washer!
