For a rewarding thrifting experience in Libertyville, St. Vincent de Paul is a must-visit and ranks high among my favorite local spots. The friendly and accommodating staff create a welcoming atmosphere. One of the store's most dynamic features is its rapid product turnover; the selection is constantly refreshed, so if an item catches your eye, it's wise to purchase it promptly, as availability is fleeting.
While their pricing remains competitive and often lower than many other thrift establishments, it's worth noting the slight increase in prices over the past year, a trend observed across the broader second-hand retail market. Despite the store's modest footprint, they manage to display a diverse and appealing array of merchandise. The premises are consistently clean and well-maintained, contributing to a pleasant shopping environment. My primary area for constructive feedback would be the fitting room facilities; an upgrade or an additional room would significantly improve the customer experience by reducing occasional long waits. Nevertheless, St. Vincent de Paul remains an outstanding destination for finding...
Read moreI traveled to Illinois to help my grandmother put up her xmas decorations. And while doing so we were able to clean out about 4 boxes of decorations that she wanted to donate. So I loaded them in the car and we made our way to this location. I walked through the donation door and met a "gentleman" where I asked if it was okay to bring in some items to donate. He said "what are you bringing?" and I said "xmas decorations". He then scoffed at me and made some comment under his breath about how "everyone always drops off their xmas stuff around xmas....yadda yadda". I replied with "oh, I don't have to bring it in if ya'll don't need it..." And again he responded with some angrily charged reply. I then just stopped and asked him if he was okay. He mumbled something so I asked again if he was doing ok. he replied with "It's none of your business how I'm doing"...Now that is a first for me! I understand hurt people hurt people and I just pray that he gets the help he needs. We won't be making any more donations to that location because I don't want my grandmother to ever have to deal with such a...
Read moreI came here from an assistance in need of clothing and winter items that saint Vincent de Paul church had gifted me a voucher for $75 to obtain at this store. I had 3 pairs of shoes I wasn't allowed to buy on the voucher for some reason be only for clothes, however one of the things I requested for assistance was winter gear. The one pair of shoes costed $10 and we're brand new and not the prettiest but the most ideal for the cold and elements I really did need. The two other shoes the cashier did allow me to have were a pair of open slip ONS I planned for house shoes and the other were mesh gym shoes with a hold at the corner toe. Knowing that she could allow me to have the brand new shoes that only cost $10 that were nice for cold weather but declined to allow made me feel very badly why I was in need but she wanted to pick another person to have those be better and I won't ask for help again from this agency and have $30 left on a voucher to use I won't be going here again but I did get a...
