I rarely, if ever post negative reviews but I feel obliged to share tonight’s experience. I ordered from this restaurant for the first time through door-dash. My order consisted of (2) Butter Chicken priced at $9.99 per serving, which arrived a very pale pink color. The color is not in itself off-putting, but the taste was horrifically sweet. It is as though someone has poured straight sugar over the batch. I could not get more than 3 bites into it and I am not a picky individual. This dish is simply inedible, and a nauseating combination with the chicken pieces it envelops.

Additionally, I ordered the garlic naan to accompany this dish. At $1.99 per PIECE I expected fresh naan. What arrived was a soggy mess that was pre-packaged and frozen. You may be wondering how I know that it was packaged frozen. That would be because I have purchased the identical brand from Trader Joe’s at $1.99 for 4 pieces and have the frozen bag still in my freezer.

At this point I feel I have wasted over $50 on a meal that was inedible, an absolute shame as I was thrilled to have a highly rated space near my home to order my...

Went in for my first time today. There were about 3 other customers inside when I entered.

The decor is lacking, but that typically doesn't bother me TOO much for this style of restaurant.

Who I believe was the owner had let me know they were super short staffed and he was the only one on. Having 10 years in the restaurant industry, I did not mind the wait and didn't want him to feel rushed.

He kept coming back to let us know the time range.

It did take about 35 minutes from order to get food.

I ordered medium chicken curry with Nan and it was great! I'd definitely come here again. The flavors were excellent in the chicken curry. Just enough to make my nose run! A few bites of rice had a "tinny" flavor to it. I used my own silverare from home so it could just be me.

The Nan was just ok, but I'd give it another shot. I know he was rushing to cook it.

I live about 12-14 minutes away, and by the time I got home, the food was still VERY HOT. Which is always pleasing!

Certainly a 3.8-4 in my book. Will try again! Thanks for a wonderfully...

I have had Indian food at a ton of restaurants back in Colorado, but since my wife and I returned home to Illinois, we’ve found ourselves missing the food back out west. Today, Curry Lead reminded me what delicious Indian food tastes like.

The Chicken Tikka Masala was actually the right consistency! That was immediately a good sign, as the other restaurants I’ve tried in the area serve what I can only equate to spiced tomato water.

But it wasn’t just consistency that Chef Ali and his team nailed; the flavor was bang on, and the texture of the chicken was heavenly.

The butter naan? Don’t even get me started, this naan was fluffy in the right ways, with nice crispy edges but soft & stretchy in the middle.

And the spice was a perfect medium! I always start at a medium to see where a restaurant’s medium is at, and I can definitely say I’m looking forward to coming back soon to try some hot (or even very hot!).

I’ll be back soon Ali, and next time I’m trying the chicken biryani. Biryani is easily my favorite dish, so...

Green curry leaf is a restaurant that reopened in Libertyville under new management. Ali the manager has previous experience managing a restaurant in Palatine. Being a tremendous fan of the previous curry leaf I had to compare the old vs new one. I'm glad I stopped by. I ordered the butter chicken spicy, with white rice and garlic naan. It literally set my taste buds ablaze. It was spicy and contained a tremendous amount of flavor. It was really saucy as well, I expected there to be some oil pooled on top, but it was completely absent, which I'm grateful for. The order of butter chicken came with rice, which I found unusual, but I won't complain. The garlic naan was good, much better than the previous ownership of curry leaf, which was actually served a little cold. But in all honesty the garlic naan is a little better at Biryani Pointe. My experience here with the quality of food, quantity, and customer experience has been phenomenal. I look forward to returning, because I have a feeling I'll be hooked on the butter chicken.

First off, Curry Leaf is not your common Indian restaurant with north Indian food. It's more of a carryout place with some great South Indian dishes. The first time we ordered, we got the chicken biriyani (bone-in), chicken vindaloo (boneless), chicken chettinad (bone-in), and mixed veg curry. Everything was good, not bland, very flavorful. Mixed veg dish was okay. A week later, we ordered kerala parathas, chicken chettinad, and chicken seekh kebabs. The chicken chettinad was definitely a favorite, especially with the Kerala style parathas. Chicken Seekh kebabs were also good, not bland or too spicy, and seasoned well. Just wish they used less oil in the chicken dishes, but that's my fault for not asking the first time. Ordered another time and requested less oil. It's something they'll accommodate if requested. Definitely a great addition up north!

A small regular Indian restaurant in Libertyville in the northern suburbs of Chicago. They took a pretty long time to get my order ready. Took them 45 minutes to get my order ready. When I wanted to cancel then they were like it will be ready in 30 min. But it still took them almost 45 minutes in the end. Inside the restaurant the atmosphere is pretty basic with unimpressive tables and chairs. Only 1 person who mages the counter and gets orders from inside the kitchen.
