Branded Barrel — Local services in Lilburn

I stopped by Branded Barrel to pickup a few items and was followed by the Asian man bc I had my Brahmin backpack on my back. Which I didn’t want to leave in the car bc my laptop was in it. I noticed he was popping up on every aisle I went to. So when I went to the cashier, a RUDE, GHETTO, crunched up nail having, poor hispanic girl, I didn’t even want to go to her line to begin with! I told her you can tell him just bc I had my backpack doesn’t mean that I am going to steal out of this store. She INSTANTLY got an attitude. Stated “well we don’t allow bags in the store, and that’s his job to walk around watching the store.” I said he followed me on every aisle, that’s not watching the store, that’s watching me!” Show as I’m opening my bag, I tell her, “look you can see, it’s nothing in there. She say, “I’m not telling him anything, tell him yourself, and opening the bag was unnecessary.” I said “Yall watching me, I just wanted yall to see that not every person, black or otherwise, with a bag is here to steal.” As this was happening, the Asian man with the burnt side of face, who was watching me, came walking by. I called him over and told him just what I said previously. And instead of apologizing or attempting to explain that maybe I misconstrued what was happening, he said that’s my job, my job is to watch the store, very rudely might I add. Just take your money somewhere else!...

I generally do not drink alcohol so I don't spend a lot of time in liquor stores. I have been to a few in my area but have never been to this store. The store was quite large with a large selection of all types of alcohol. The aisles were very well marked and it was easy to find my items. I did have to ask a cashier about one item and she was just ok. Not super helpful or friendly but she did tell me which aisle to go to-so...🤷🏼‍♀️ I went in looking for a specific item, namely ginger liqueur and non alcoholic ginger syrup. To my surprise I found both at this store. What was even more surprising is that I found the exact brands that I was looking for. I had gone here with reccomendations of 2 brands to look for, and I saw both! So I had options🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️Wow...that almost never happens to me. Usually I have to go to multiple stores on opposite ends of the county and still end up with some inferior brand of whatever I was looking for. So while I can't say if this is a great liquor store compared to others....they did have exactly what I needed so that's pretty...

The only thing positive about the Branded Barrel is the product to be sold. The management and workers are unfriendly, rude and do not provide customer service. When asking a question about product, the manager treats you as if you are dirt, no customer service. I wanted to build a relationship with this store but the staff and management do not want to be bothered. The manager actually told me that he will not sell me certain products. Very strange for a retail store to be so negative to customers. Definite -1 star. 9/2022 update - Well it has been some time since my last visit to BB not much change. The people at the check out counters were plentiful, smiling and kind. But same manager has same poor attitude and no support from the staff through our the store.
