I ordered food via Uber eats for pickup. When I arrived to the restaurant they said someone had already picked it up. I'm like it wasn't me. I ordered it for pick up, not delivery and if I did order it for delivery. It would show who my driver is and a pin number I would have to provide to the driver for my food. No such thing was on my order for my food. When I showed them the order in my app, it had changed from your food is ready for pickup to completed. It didn't show who picked up an order nothing. They said a driver for Uber eats came and that was the only Uber eats order so they assumed it was for the driver to pick up and even said it had the same name. I hardly doubt the Uber driver has the same name as myself. Anyhow.
This is my first time ordering Uber eats for pickup bc I was in the area of this establishment and not near home. So I thought I would try it out. I'm not sure how the labeling would be. However, I would assume it would say pick up or delivery on the paperwork. I'm also sure it would have had my full name listed and my name is quite different.
They had the security guard talk to me regarding my order and he also said that this happened last week. A woman placed an order via Uber eats for pickup and when she arrived someone from Uber eats had already picked up her food. So to me obviously this is a customer service issue and a broken process with employees not knowing how to perform certain tasks properly. If this happened before, why wouldn't you reevaluate your processes to ensure you are verifying information before giving some random Uber eats driver someone's food.
So the establishment stated I needed to request a refund from Uber eats and reorder my order. Obviously refunds take a while. So I was not about to place another order and spend additional dollars if I don't know if my money would be refunded to me.
This was my first time at this establishment and I was looking forward to trying something new with my son but this will be my last time visiting. I hope they review this review and put better policies in place for orders placed for pickup as this is unacceptable!
As I was typing this review I received a notification from Uber eats that they are sorry about my experience and refunded my funds. Thank you...
Read moreDon’t come here for major events. For context we came a hour before the Colombia vs. Argentina Copa America final. Don’t get me wrong, the food is ok and you really want to come here for the atmosphere, but man was the service terrible. I don’t blame the server because it seems like she was just the middle man carrying out the owner’s unorganized mess. An hour and a half before the game started we were told we needed to spend at least $200 to hold the table. It wasn’t until after we had put in a food order (amounting to a little over $200) that the server let us know that we had to at least buy a bucket of beer or a bottle of liquor to hold the table. Then, about an hour later she tells us we have to spend a minimum of $500 to hold the table. At this point everyone’s upset because it just seemed like the longer we were there the more we were being charged. Eventually the owner came up to the table and told us that we needed to spend at least $800 ($72 each!!) plus tip (automatic 20%) to hold the table. At this point we closed out our tab and just waited for halftime to leave, each spending about $40 anyways. They also let in way too many people to the point where you couldn’t even walk in the place. Multiple fights also broke out during our time there and the parking situation was abysmal. Not a family atmosphere, and definitely not a place you should be...
Read moreSo, I found this place called Somos Peru and it was honestly one of the best spots I've ever hit up. Being from Ecuador and not having any Ecuadorian spots around, finding a place that gets the vibe right is pretty rare. This place? It nailed it.
Walking into Somos Peru, it was like stepping into a little piece of home. The people working there were super welcoming, making the whole experience even better. But let's talk about what really matters - the food.
The star of the show for me was their Ceviche de Conchas Negras. Man, it was out of this world! It tasted so authentic, just like something you'd get back home. It's hard to find food that hits that spot perfectly, but they did it. The seafood was fresh, the flavors were all on point, and it just made me feel happy.
Somos Peru really knows what they're doing. It's not just about making food; it's about making food that tells a story, that brings back memories. They've got something special going on. Also, the ladies that work there were super attentive and sweet!
I'm definitely planning to go back. If you're missing home or just want to try some amazing Peruvian-Ecuadorian dishes, you've gotta check out Somos Peru. It's more than just eating out; it's like a mini...
