As a Cashier of Chief at the Van Wert store I really don't feel the management at this store was very friendly.. I know how the whole customer service thing goes. And a dissatisfied customer shouldn't be made to feel laughed at or like a burden. I came into this store 2 weeks ago and bought 3 different packs of mochi ice cream and a container of organic blueberries.. Working at a Chief store I understand the fruit is always fresh and can expire much faster then some other stores since they aren't coated with the stuff for longer shelf time. Anyway, 1 out of the 3 mochi ice creams I bought was great nice and a soft chewy texture once thawed as the directions tell you to do. The other 2 boxes once thawed.. The texture was just bad. Easy to break apart not chewy and just kind of rubbery also the blueberries tasted rancid due to almost the entire pack was molded once I began pulling them out of the container to clean them.. Coming from Van Wert I can't always ride out to the Lima store but was in town tonight and figured I'd speak to the manager and get it resolved. I understand I need the items with me but when somethings old and you've got 3 kids at home you don't always think about saving the rotton food in your fridge.. And living a distance why would I keep it for that long?? I would have appreciated just getting my money back for the trouble instead of being told oh bring it in with your next visit which could be another 2 weeks from today... Why on earth would I keep something old in my fridge for that long? Just not worth my time or the trouble I had to go through enduring embarrassment even after speaking to one of their employees over the phone and being told it was okay just to bring my receipt and itd be resolved. I don't want more of the product not knowing if when I get back to my own town that itd be the same issue and have to keep complaining over it. Very unsatisfied with...
Read moreThey are unprofessional and dishonest. The meat is old and outdated.. I had an employee tell me they are basically drilled to push out all the food and are not trained well enough to do the job. They push out food that is out dated not realizing the risk of making customers ill! I’ve had to write corporate numerous times due to me having food poising from old meat. When I brought in my receipt from SAME DAY of purchasing the meat and showed them as soon as I opened it a couple hours later you can smell the rotten stench. The expectation still had a week left on it!!! This not only happened once, but twice. I also had issues with the deli with the salads. They don’t make “FRESH” salads every day. They leave the same ones for days if it’s not bought. Which they are supposed to weigh and put out on the floor with a date! Same thing the dates aren’t accurate. Even the employees have openly admitted to it and sincerely apologized for it, but it’s hard to find who it is exactly. Or at least that’s what I was told. I’ve tried, but I now shot at the one in Northland & haven’t had issues since! If I do ever go back I’ll post pictures and...
Read moreI placed an order for curbside pickup. When I got to the store, I pulled into a curbside parking spot and followed the directions on the sign. Unfortunately, the directions on the sign are different from the directions in the pickup email they had sent me. When no one had responded to my arrival text (following the directions on their signage) 10 minutes after I sent the text, I texted again following the directions in the emai. That also netted no response, so I called the number on the sign. It rang 6-8 times wtihout being answered. At that point, I called the store's number and finally got an employee, who brought my order out. At this point, I'd been there for more than 20 minutes. The only saving graces of using this service were the kind employee who finally brought my order out to me and the cookies I was compled for my excessive wait time. I like the store, but I will never order for curbside...
