I wish that I had a Macro camera lense to reveal the exquisite precision that Marty did in mounting my "nearly clear" .3c Heart Solitaire wedding stone.

My band had been smashed in a pocket door and I had taken it several times to independent jewelers to fix it, re mount it, etc. Living in "The OC" you would think that the job would be (at minimum) decent. The re-mount Kay Jewelers did was awful. It was sharp, off centered, unbalanced and caught on every piece of clothing I own. Several Jewelers here in South Orange County, CA told me that it wouldn't be worth the money to fix my wedding set. I spoke to the actual Jewelers who would be doing the work and was blown off several times. I was willing to pay any price.

I mailed my wedding set from California, to Marty in Nebraska. I think he took it as a personal challenge. Needless to say, he superceeded my expectations. I am forever grateful. He even modified my band to make it stronger and fixed my husband's band with beautiful results.

The Job: The heart solitaire setting is evenly spaced and balanced. And because It's a heart, it requires a special placement, pressure and precision point on the bottom. The mount doesn't hide my stone. It is smooth and clean. It looks like a brand new mount. The prongs are strong and still elegant. My solitaire doesn't look like it's going to slip out. He made a beautiful weld (as a customized request) to keep the three bands together and it looks exactly as I had envisioned it. What so many Jewelers in South Orange County, CA told me would not be worth their time, Marty did with ease and elegance.

When your marriage ends it is a very sad thing. And then you’re left with reminders of all the promises made that have been forever broken. Rings carry the symbolism of those promises. It’s a stiff reminder and often you don’t want them anymore. So when my own marriage ended last year I decided I wanted to give the rings to the two best things that came from this relationship. My daughters. 💕 I took my vision of melting these rings together and forming new pendants for each of my daughters to Akala Jewelry and asked them to help me make hurt into happiness really. I took an older ring to a jewelry store I have purchased several pieces from, to have it set in a new ring. They sent it to their jeweler (out of state) to measure the depth of the stone. When I followed up a month later, nothing had been done. I ended up getting the ring back ordering the ring we were looking at directly from the supplier. I ended up not liking the ring after all.

A friend referred me to AKALA JEWELRY. They worked with me to design the perfect ring. We decided to melt down the ring and change the design a little bit.
