Braeda Fresh Express Café — Restaurant in Lincoln

I'm always surprised at the reactions I get when I mention Braeda. I love this place! Food is always fresh. Great quality ingredients. Friendly staff. Best of all if you sign up for their emails they send you discount codes! For Mother's Day they offered a Buy 1/ Get 1 promotion on their Half & Half Combo Meals.

We both love the salads here. My husband went with the Midwest Cobb that comes with Ranch. He changes it up on the sandwiches and had a Reuben, which is his go-to.

The Cashew, Chicken, Strawberry Salad (minus chicken) is Easily one of my favorites in town. It comes with a yummy Asian Sesame Dressing. The 4 Cheese, Roasted Peppers, Tomato Sandwich is delicious! I get it every time.

I know there are a lot of Panera fans in Lincoln and I stop there once in awhile. For similar food fare I personally prefer Braeda. Also great if you want to support Local!

Not impressed at all. Ate there 3 times, the one over just off of highway 2.. I will never go back.. Small portions, over priced and the 2 employees were totally dirty folks. One was moping the floors. Then with out washing his hands went over and started making food for another customer.. WOW.. I went over pointed it out to the customers sitting there with there backs turned.. They went up , and requested manager, I told them what I seen.. Manager handled it professionally and quickly.. Another thing I saw on my last and final time.. Gal was washing Windows, when I pulled up. She opens the door for me as I walk up..Cool.. Then I'm standing there deciding what to order.. She throws the rags away she was washing Windows with.. Them comes around and takes my order... Then goes over, starts to make my order...No...no...no..I said ...You need to wash your hands....Her reply was I did....Bull frogs... She never left my sight... So she kept making my sandwich...HMMM.. Okay.. I waited till she made it all up...after several , stares from her.. And when it was all done.. I ask for the manager.. Said I want my money back.. After telling her, what I witnessed.. She gave me back my money..And gave me a card for 3 free meals... Which I gave to the family, that just walked in, as I was Walking out.. Its not hard to wash and wipe your hands off.. To keep the customers from getting sick...This is the one over off...

I had not eaten at Braeda in many years but was driving by and decided to stop to get some carry out. The “Miller & Paine” mac and cheese was more like noodles covered in Velveeta. It was clearly microwaved and did not have any bread crumbs. It did have a black hair though so that was even grosser. The full size orders we got came in the same sized container as a half order of other pasta we got. I think there was actually more pasta in the half order. It was definitely not worth $10! The French dip was cold and soggy. It could have been ok had it been warm with a toasted bun. The clam chowder was inedible. It had a strong fishy smell and tasted off. Neither my husband, nor I, could take more than one bite. $5 down the drain. The tortilla soup and the focaccia turkey melt were ok, 6 out of 10. The “Miller & Paine” cinnamon rolls were my last hope. Sadly, they too, we’re a let down. They were very doughy, almost raw in the middle. They were very under done. The online ordering site was not working and wouldn’t let me submit my order so that was annoying. I went inside to place my order and was the only person in the whole place. That should have been a red flag. The cashier was nice enough though and the order was made quickly. Overall, it was very expensive for some average, some poor, and some inedible food.
