04/26/2024 Yesterday my wife and I traveled from Fargo ND to bring our American Pitbull named Odin to his second appointment here for his boosters. During our first appointment, 04/04/2024, DVM Andrea Sands administered Odin’s Small Animals Rabies Vaccine ($10.50), Canine Distemper Vaccine ($38.50) and Bordetella Vaccine ($18.50). During this time she explained the importance of getting Odin vaccinated for Lyme disease/fleas, and that we should consider doing lab tests for heartworm, which we agreed to do at his next appointment. Miss Sands clearly explained to my wife and I that at our next appointment we would ONLY be charged for the remainder booster for Distemper ($38.50) and not have to pay an additional “Cannine Vaccine Appointment”($93.25) or “Vaccination Exam Small Animal”($25.75). Well, yesterday Odin got the reminder of his boosters, we also got him vaccinated for Lyme disease and did the lab work as discussed during our first visit with Miss Sands. Yesterday Odin was administered to by DVM Ellen Dauphinais and another person I believe to be Ashlyn Draovitch. The appointment went as planned, but when it came time to pay we were charged $285.25! I didn’t make a fuss about it then, I just paid and left, disappointed that something didn’t seem right with that charge. When we got home my wife was going through the invoice as she was putting the appears away she noticed we were charged a “ Canine Vaccine Appointment “ fee in the amount of $123.35! And an additional $25.75 fee for another “ Vaccination Exam Small Animal “! These are fees that were suppose to be waived as discussed during our first visit with Miss Sands! When my wife called and inquired about this, one of the ladies whom I believe to be Ellen Dauphinais rudely explained that she spoke to the owner, who apparently is Miss Sands herself, and that Miss Sands “ doesn’t remember saying that “ and that “ it’s our protocol to charge these fees each visit”. My wife and I are Native American, we both have many tattoos, including matching ones on our faces, I have neck tattoos and also a head tattoo. I don’t know if this matters, but I think I should mention it. If they don’t like “ my kind “ around their neck of the woods, I clearly get the picture and wont...
Read moreThe receptionist is awful! I sadly had to put my cat down today at the red river emergency vet but before I did I wanted to exhaust all my options. I called asking if they take payment plans because a friend said that she has done it there before. The receptionist wasn’t understanding at all or sympathetic when I was crying. Every other vet I called was sympathetic and at least tried to offer some advice but not this place. She hung up on me when I started to cry and when my friend called to ask why, the receptionist replied “what am I supposed to do, listen to someone cry?” I have other animals and I will not take them to someone who doesn’t even care about them. Vets and vet staff know how important animals are to owners and to be treated that way...
Read moreTraveled from Fargo to Lisbon Vet today to get my cats dental work done to save some money. Staff at Lisbon Vet were so helpful and informative and took such good care of my kitty. Every time I called to get this appointment figured out Sammy was helpful and kind. I never once felt bad for asking questions and they answered every one I had. I wasn't charged or required to schedule an additional exam fee prior to dental surgery, they just looked over my cats records and vet notes from her vet clinic in Fargo and did an assessment day of surgery. I would 100% come back for other high cost vet care needs. Be warned there's not a whole lot to do in Lisbon to kill the...
