My first experience here is that all the vegetables and fruits are very fresh, and there are a lot of seafood to choose from. The price is much cheaper than the 99 supermarket, and there is absolutely no expired food to deceive customers! This is so importantā—ļøNow I visit 88 Supermarket every week. It has good quality and low price, and their service attitude is very goodšŸ‘Every time I come here, I have a great shopping experience. I have introduced many friends to this supermarket to shop. , I hope to do better and better!

The property'd been abandoned for years and 88 Seafood Supermarket's finally opened! It's a typical Chinese supermarket like 99 Ranch with lots of Korean stuff and staples as well but there're NOT as many products as 99 Ranch or H Mart yet. That's probably because they're still soft opening which is understandable. There're many rooms to be improved yet but this place could be a life changer if you're living near N. Vasco Rd.

Free parking, good range of seafood. Prices are average. I bought blue crabs in a package. After opening it started to stink. The top row is good. The bottom layer is rotten and there is a strong stench. So : impossible to cook. You don't want to be cheated, don't buy packaged goods. It's not a mistake, the staff knowingly packaged the spoiled product!. As other posts have shown, this is common in this store!

The neighbors waited years for a good reputable market, lost PW market and then 88 Seafood came along. At first it seemed ok, now I can’t go in there because of the horrific bad smells. No balance of selections of foods for all ethnicities that’s useful either. It’s not a suitable market for the neighbors demographics. Springtown seems to be where ā€˜whatever’ is acceptable. Since the Springtown golf course became ā€˜open space’ it’s now an ugly beyond words dead golf course, and I suspect it impacted home values negatively also. Now there’s a market most residents can’t shop at. Do Livermore city council members live near either of these two places? Doubt it! Enough is enough. We’re not the city’s dumping ground. Would Danville allow open space looking like a dead golf course? Or a market that’s so questionable? Absolutely not. I’m ashamed Livermore planners sees the North side as undeserving of careful planning and wise decision making. Any developers out there? We could really benefit by a change and need help now!! There’s incredible opportunities on the North side. Open space, beautiful backroad drives, hills and views, large lots, and residents who care and deserve a change. I understand a recent community planning meeting was held considering much of the dilemma of the now defunct golf course and it’s repurposing use. So here’s the opportunity for Livermore to showcase what can be done (and incidentally bring surrounding home and tax values up for...

I was very excited to see this store in my neighborhood, but my excitement is totally gone away. Every time I go there, I get disappointed with their customer service and produce. No one in this store is able to communicate in English. I couldn’t find sesame oil so I approached two employees to help me. They looked at me like they just fell of the sky! I asked ā€œdo you speak English?ā€, and she told me no! I asked is there anybody in this store that speaks English, and she looked at me like you would look at an alien! Lol, come on! Don’t you make sure your employees have some English? Speaking of produce: wilted celery, wilted green onion, rotten papayas. Their plastic bags are small and you can’t open them even if you try very hard. You have to bring a pair of gloves with you, so the rubber helps you to open them. Ridiculous! Not even close...

I’ve been shopping at 88 Market regularly, but after my recent experience, I’m very disappointed. I had purchased a bag of mandarins and tried one right outside the store with my mother, only to find it wasn’t very good. I went back in to see if I could return the rest — I would have understood if they said no.

But instead of simply refusing politely, the staff scolded me. One of them even started lecturing me about how hard it is to run a business, making me feel like I had done something terribly wrong.

I’m a reasonable customer — I don’t expect every return to be accepted. But I do expect to be treated with basic respect. After this experience, I’m seriously reconsidering whether I want to support a business that treats its...
