The neighbors waited years for a good reputable market, lost PW market and then 88 Seafood came along. At first it seemed ok, now I canāt go in there because of the horrific bad smells. No balance of selections of foods for all ethnicities thatās useful either. Itās not a suitable market for the neighbors demographics. Springtown seems to be where āwhateverā is acceptable. Since the Springtown golf course became āopen spaceā itās now an ugly beyond words dead golf course, and I suspect it impacted home values negatively also. Now thereās a market most residents canāt shop at. Do Livermore city council members live near either of these two places? Doubt it! Enough is enough. Weāre not the cityās dumping ground. Would Danville allow open space looking like a dead golf course? Or a market thatās so questionable? Absolutely not. Iām ashamed Livermore planners sees the North side as undeserving of careful planning and wise decision making. Any developers out there? We could really benefit by a change and need help now!! Thereās incredible opportunities on the North side. Open space, beautiful backroad drives, hills and views, large lots, and residents who care and deserve a change. I understand a recent community planning meeting was held considering much of the dilemma of the now defunct golf course and itās repurposing use. So hereās the opportunity for Livermore to showcase what can be done (and incidentally bring surrounding home and tax values up for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was very excited to see this store in my neighborhood, but my excitement is totally gone away. Every time I go there, I get disappointed with their customer service and produce. No one in this store is able to communicate in English. I couldnāt find sesame oil so I approached two employees to help me. They looked at me like they just fell of the sky! I asked ādo you speak English?ā, and she told me no! I asked is there anybody in this store that speaks English, and she looked at me like you would look at an alien! Lol, come on! Donāt you make sure your employees have some English? Speaking of produce: wilted celery, wilted green onion, rotten papayas. Their plastic bags are small and you canāt open them even if you try very hard. You have to bring a pair of gloves with you, so the rubber helps you to open them. Ridiculous! Not even close...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been shopping at 88 Market regularly, but after my recent experience, Iām very disappointed. I had purchased a bag of mandarins and tried one right outside the store with my mother, only to find it wasnāt very good. I went back in to see if I could return the rest ā I would have understood if they said no.
But instead of simply refusing politely, the staff scolded me. One of them even started lecturing me about how hard it is to run a business, making me feel like I had done something terribly wrong.
Iām a reasonable customer ā I donāt expect every return to be accepted. But I do expect to be treated with basic respect. After this experience, Iām seriously reconsidering whether I want to support a business that treats its...
