I recently had the pleasure of dining at Calafia Kitchen in Livermore, California, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. This up-and-coming restaurant was recommended to me by my good friends Jeff and Denise, and I'm so grateful for their fantastic suggestion. From the moment I stepped inside, I knew I was in for a treat.
Calafia Kitchen offers a delightful array of appetizers that are truly a culinary delight. The Chicharron Bites were a revelation, perfectly crispy and flavorful, making them the ultimate snack to kickstart our meal. The Brussel Sprouts were another highlight, prepared with a touch of genius. These little green morsels were tender on the inside and wonderfully charred on the outside, creating a beautiful balance of textures and flavors.
The Mexican Street Roasted Corn Dip was an absolute showstopper. Every bite was a burst of smoky sweetness, complemented by the creaminess of the dip. It was impossible to resist going back for more, and I found myself scraping the bowl to savor every last bit.
For the entrees, I opted for the Mix N Match 3 Tacos and the Mexi-Cali Burger with garlic fries. The tacos were a symphony of flavors and textures, with each combination being more delicious than the last. From tender grilled steak to tangy citrus-marinated chicken, every taco was a work of art. The Mexi-Cali Burger was a mouthwatering masterpiece, combining the best of Mexican and Californian cuisines. The patty was perfectly juicy, and the toppings elevated it to new heights. The garlic fries were a delightful sidekick, crispy and loaded with savory garlic goodness.
The ambiance of Calafia Kitchen was warm and inviting, with a trendy yet cozy atmosphere. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect, from the impeccable presentation of the dishes to the thoughtfully curated menu.
In conclusion, Calafia Kitchen is a hidden gem that deserves to be discovered by food lovers in Livermore and beyond. The delicious appetizers, such as the Chicharron Bites, Brussel Sprouts, and Mexican Street Roasted Corn Dip, set the stage for a memorable meal. The Mix N Match 3 Tacos and Mexi-Cali Burger with garlic fries showcased the chef's creativity and passion for blending flavors. With its inviting ambiance and attentive service, Calafia Kitchen is a must-visit for anyone seeking a delightful culinary experience.
I can't thank Jeff and Denise enough for recommending this fantastic restaurant. Calafia Kitchen has won me over with its outstanding dishes, and I will definitely be returning soon to explore more of their...
Read moreI should have known when I walked in and no one was there to eat. I initially thought the restaurant was closed. At 6:30pm you would think peak dinner time, but no, I was the only one there. I hate leaving bad reviews, but I've never had such a bad reaction to food at a restaurant before. I ordered the Walnut Chicken salad to start. When it came out, the smell coming off the chicken gave me an immediate gag response. Looking at it, you could tell it was frozen chicken, unflavored and probably boiled to temp cuz it was sitting on top of the cold salad mix, still steaming and wet from the boiling water it came out of. The salad was suppose to have strawberries and apples. Well, if you took one strawberry and sliced it into 10 thin slices, that was laid out around the plate for aesthetic purpose only. Same with the apple. Take a quarter slice of an apple and thinly sliced it into 10 strips and lay it on top of the strips of one strawberry strategically placed and there you have it. I'm not a picky eater. I can usually tolerate all kinds and quality of foods but this was inedible. I seriously wouldn't even feed it to my dog. The thing is, most restaurants, even if the food quality is bad, you can tell they genuinely try even though its poor. What this place is doing is criminal and in bad faith. They knowingly try to pass crap off as food and charge you for it. I could not wait to get out of that restaurant and had to go across the parking lot to a local...
Read moreThe food was delicious but this is why I gave it a two star review. The wait was pretty bad. We walked in and were told to sit anywhere. We weren't given menu's right away and sat for a good 25 to 30 minutes waiting for someone to greet us and provide us menu's. No one checked in on us or shared any updates on what the delay was we just sat... waiting. Finally someone came over and gave us menu's and asked us to take a look and then walked away. There were two other parties that came in after us, a group of 5 and a couple after them. The group of five and the couple were served before us. After I noticed that the couple after the party of five were served drinks I finally spoke up and shared that we were waiting for our drinks. There were several people waiting but I still don't understand how the parties after us got served before us. The food finally arrived and it was delicious but it wasn't worth the wait. From what I understand they opened in December and I understand there's growing pains but my recommendation to the team is that you at the very least acknowledge that we're...
