Great products, poor service, and even worse shipping times. The business functions by a restock method for consumers to shop, meaning you're only able to shop the site when they host a restock (usually once or twice a month). This causes product to sell out quickly and you'll likely miss out unless you log in to shop right at the start if the sale, despite the site advertising the sale lasts for hours. It lasts for as long as there's product available and it's not long. I became understanding frustrated after my last "shopping" experience because my cart was stuck in limbo in checkout and the site didn't allow me to check out. Instead, I sat and watched items in my cart disappear as I continued to try to check out. When I contacted "customer service" about my experience I was told that I had to delete items that were out of stock in order to check out. Yes, as though the consumer is supposed to know when items are out of stock, despite being able to add the items to my cart. Instead of taking the opportunity to extend an apology or offer a real solution to address the site's traffic and its ability to accommodate, GOTS chose to be defensive and deny the need to improve the online experience for its consumers. This is the best product on the market “for me.” I started using goddess of the sea back in 2019 towards the end of the year, and I have been hooked ever since. Back then it was just the bars, a few butters here and there, and maybe she would add some new stuff. Nothing like here inventory today, BUT…. it was still amazing. Her Healing cocoa butter she makes, let me tell you…. I have battled eczema almost all my life and acne. I have been to Doctor after Doctor. Prescribed steroid creams, ointments, lotions, tried proactive, all of these things plus more, and for years nothing worked. My cocoa butter along with other products came in yesterday. I used my sweet autumn scrub, premium Yoni gel, sweet autumn oil on the body when done, and I applied the cocoa butter on my hands, feet, and face (after using her face wash as well). My face has brightened up and no breakouts for almost 2 weeks. Day 1 of using the healing cocoa butter and my hands and feet aren’t dry or peeling anymore. It didn’t matter what I put on them, it didn’t help until this angel entered my life.

This experience happened a while ago, but I'm writing this review now because I'm almost out of product. I'm upset that I will not be repurchasing products that I love. It's unfortunate because I wanted to be a brand fanatic. Firstly, it's black-owned. Secondly, they have some products I LOVED. The problem is the customer service. It sucks! A few months ago, they advertised on Instagram that the store would be open. I was ecstatic to pick up some items for myself and others. I confirmed with them that the store would be open on said day. I blocked off my schedule and drove 1 hour and 20 minutes to the store. It was CLOSED! I sent them a message on Instagram. They told me the store would be open the next day instead. They asked for my email to send a discount code. I never received one. This is unacceptable! Black-owned or not, I will support a brand that treats customers like that. I don't care how much I love the products. I'm frustrated that I have to look for...
