Lockeford Meats let me warn you when you're passing the little town of Lockeford and you see the meat market with that line of people going across the front and around the corner down the street I'm warning you do not stop do not even think about buying any of their meat because once you do you're going to be hooked for life and you will be in that line I guarantee that. Let me tell you a little bit about the meat what can I say I'm going to anyway my wife won't make her pasta sauce without their basil pesto or Italian sausage in it. The chorizo has a very unique flavor but I feel you must put in one of their jalapeno sausages in with it when you cook it it's like the cherry on top of an ice cream sundae. I have a Cajun friend we cannot even understand when he speaks he says that there and andouille sausage is the best she's ever tasted very short moment of other sausages can't be beat from your Okie sausages for breakfast with their bacon sausage Maple sausage and apple sausage are excellent with pancakes and waffles. Is there number one sellers smoke Dakota is excellent one of the best sausages on the road you'll ever have and what can you say about their luau my grandkids favorite every grandkids favorite that's saying a lot. Goes great with macaroni and cheese they told me. And the ones that swear they never eat a hot dog again because they saw how they were made and I don't care for the Bay Area and love Casper's or any other hot dog brand for that matter once you try one of the hot dogs that they make you will never buy another one anywhere else. And for the snacks in the car while you're driving their jerky is fabulous is there meat sticks are the best $1.50 you'll ever spend. So don't say I didn't warn you you stop instead of that line you'll be doing it for the rest of your life that's what I say. There isn't a sausages there's a...
Read moreThis is both a positive review,, and a complaint regarding our most recent visit. This past Friday ,12/30, we made the 100 mile round-trip to get some of our favorite sausage ( Hawaiian Luau) We've had several types from Lockeford, but our absolute fave is the Hawaiin. When we walked in, we were the only (first) customer, which is rare, as they get super busy. We ordered 7-8 lbs of our favorite regular Luau. I noticed they now have a spicy Hawaiin, so I asked for a couple pounds to try out. We also ordered a couple of other items. Fast forward to Monday 1/2/23. I fired up the grill, took a couple of regular Hawaiins out of the package marked as such (the spicy package says "spicy" and only contains a few, compared to the much large package of regular ones labeled simply Luau. I grilled them, we sat down to enjoy these tasty sausages, but immediately got a spicy burn in the first bite. I don't know how the girl behind the counter Effed up our simple order, but she did. She packaged up ALL spicy Hawaiins - and now that I've tasted the spicy ones unexpectedly, unfortunately I don't care for them much. To make matters worse, my wife does not eat anything spicy. That's exactly why I only ordered a couple of pounds to try. Now we're stuck with about 10 lbs of spicy and ZERO regular ones. As long as I've been buying from them, I've never had reason to complain until now. I spent right around $100 on that order and drove 100+ miles. Needless to say, I'm not very happy with my latest experience. So let this be a warning to all reading this - watch them closely as your order is filled. Double-check, watch and make sure they are getting the CORRECT sausages from the trays, and confirm they are giving you what...
Read moreLockeford Sausage is definitely the go to place to for those of us who still eat meat. I buy Beef Jerky here before most of my backpacking trips. The price can't be beat and the quality of the product is exceptional. Like, THE BEST 😋 Hence why it is busy most of the time.
Beware, you can get there at times when the line to get in is well around the block. I would not recommend attempting to wait in this line during this time as some people tend to get a little agro while waiting 😬 However, you can catch this place not busy as the photo I posted shows. It is not that rare unless of course you show up in the middle of the morning or early afternoon on a weekend. Not a good idea-think ahead before going. 👍🏼
The help can sometimes appear preoccupied with the monotony of the services they provide. An earlier post left this note for the owner at the end of the review. "OWNER- Looks like you need to give your Counter people a Pep talk Show them how customer service Works". (end post)
I think a wiser move would be to kindly interrupt the conversation with "I'm ready when you are ladies". It's reasonable to assume one should politely address the point of being invisible if that is how one feels ☮️
BTW, Lockeford Sausage does not manage an...
