This was my first time at this store. I came to pick up my daughter’s medication, she had just been released from a two week stay at the hospital following major abdominal surgery. I arrived at Walgreens 2 hours after getting her settled in at home to a 45 minute wait in line to get to the pick up window only to find out that they only had an Rx for over the counter medications such as Tylenol and Motrin and there was nothing in their system for the heavy duty pain medications she was supposed to get. I left very frustrated because she doesn’t need those wimpy pain meds she needs her heavy duty pain medication. We called the hospital and they verified that all the medication on the discharge papers had been sent and that they had received a verification that Walgreens had received the prescriptions, The discharge nurse said she would call Walgreens and find out what happened on their end. The hospital called back and said that Walgreens had indeed received the prescription orders, and that the pharmacist had not entered the information in. Fast forward to 8:00pm. 6 hours after being released from the hospital, My daughter suffering in pain with no pain medications. We have been waiting for their text to let us know the prescription is ready. I call the pharmacy to check on the status and the person answering says “We are still working on it, but now that we are done with giving Covid shots we will get this processed, come down in 20 minutes” I go down to Walgreens drive through and wait 35 minutes in line. I finally get to the window, I finally get her medication! It is after 9:00pm. 7 hours of agony for my daughter with no pain medication at home. This is unacceptable! This is my first experience with Walgreens, And hopefully will be my last!!! I told my daughter no...
Read moreTime to move my prescriptions to Costco again. The pharmacists think they know more than my doctors do about my health, without ever having examined me. Amazing! Apparently my prescription for 90 thyroid pills can't be refilled "early", although the last time they filled it, they only meted out 20 of the 90. It's not exactly "early" if you filled less than 1/3 of the rx last time. Then they gave me 2 different strengths of a blood pressure medicine, as prescribed, but they gave me pills that look EXACTLY alike, which is dangerous. I asked them to use a different manufacturer, but no, can't do that either. My third medicine is never refilled with the rest of them, for no reason, except that it gets hung up in the online renewal system because the pharmacist "needs to review" it for 5 days before they eventually kick it out of the system and make me call it in. Every month I pick up about 10 prescriptions between me and my MIL, and I have to go sit in the ridiculously long drive up line at LEAST four times over the course of a week, because there has not been one single instance where all of the meds were ready at the same time, even though there were refills left on all of them, and when I started trying to get them refilled, they were all on the same cycle. Now all of the refill dates are spaced out over about two weeks, instead of all at once, because of these unexplained but repeated delays. The pharmacist feeling the need to override what my doctors have requested is really the last straw. My thyroid pills are key in keeping what's left of my thyroid healthy after my cancer. Yet they just canceled my refill request yet again, after shorting me 70 pills last time. Costco will fill it for...
Read moreMy family and I have been utilizing Walgreens pharmacy for over eight years now and to think that there was no warning prior to their shut down of their pharmacy they continuously claim that it’s a computer issue when in reality we just got a notification that Walgreens is now all of a sudden doing delivery I think this is great but I think the execution is where all of this failed you have to consider that there are individuals such as myself that don’t have immediate access to the pharmacy prescription drug card and I had to wait over a week and a half to receive information about my insurance to switch over to a different pharmacy this was not only inconvenient but again poorly executed it was with little to no regard to the population that has been keeping this Walgreens alive zero respect zero care zero compassion the rest of the stores all right but since the really good manager left about 8 to 10 years ago it’s been terrible would I recommend this Walgreens sure if you want overpriced convenient goods and generally OK customer service besides that you probably do better spending the gas and time going elsewhere at least save some money and have customer service that doesn’t lie to you and I actually cares I can only imagine people with diabetes people like me with severe mental health issues And elderly people who are disabled that are unable to get into the stores and who rely on individuals to help them pick up the medications all I’m saying is Walgreen’s if you want better reviews maybe you should actually read them maybe you should actually start caring about your community maybe you should follow your corporate slogans it’s almost like this is a Walgreens...
