I visited this place yesterday in the afternoon with my friends. The location is great The inside of the place is awesome tons of selections from board games, card games, arts, and crafts. It's extremely nice and clean the owners took care of it really well please keep that up! I didn't see anyone play there, but I'm sure the owners have certain schedule of when people play. I play Magic the Gathering, so to anyone else out there reading to compare the prices online vs The Launchpad. During the time of this written review:
Preorder: Wilds of Eldraine Set Booster: $115 Launchpad $130 Cardkingdom (no shipping and tax included) $117.58 TCGPlayer (shipping included no tax included) (The local card shop in Stockton has it for CardKingdom Price)
Dragon Shield Sleeves Matte: $10.99 Launchpad $12.99 Amazon, TCGPlayer, CardKingdom (To throw it out there the local card shop in Stockton has it for Amazon's price)
Ultimate Guard Boulder 100+: $12.99 Launchpad $24.99 Amazon $16.95 TCGPlayer (shipping included) $12.99 + shipping and tax Card Kingdom (out of stock)
Overall: The prices are reasonably priced and there's no mark ups compared to Stockton's local card shop, Amazon, CardKingdom, and TCGPlayer. The owner is a chill and nice person compared to the ones I've met in Stockton. The owner cleaned the place up really nice including behind the counter completely spotless. I really recommend this place if you want to find a fair price, though there is rarely a bargain price like other users stated, I'm sure if the owner reads enough reviews he'll try weekly/monthly sales and advertise it.
Closing regards, I'll grade this place in tier list standard: Prices: A Cleanliness: S Location: A+ Owner: S
Highly recommended as a staple for local card and board game shop for the San...
Read moreI love this store. I go there for Magic the Gathering products. Mike always has a good selection of accessories for tcg's. And while I don't play table top games, it seems like he's got a good selection of things like miniatures, paints and accessories for table top gaming as well..
What impresses me most is that the prices of his sealed Magic products are so competitive. You can get a booster box, packs and other sealed products for pretty cheap.
The only downside I would say is Mike doesn't deal in singles. If you are looking to buy single MTG, YGO, or Pokémon cards you'll have to go somewhere else. As for everything else, Mike either has it, or he can get it.
When we can get back to playing in stores. His store is fun to play at as well; great crowd, clean bathroom, the new store arrangement is excellent to. If you are into physical gaming like trading cards, table top or board games, Launchpad is a great...
Read moreI grew up around Comic Grapevine for a bit and heard this place opened up a block or so away, at the time it was small in terms of selection and I don’t believe it even had TCG at the time. I then stopped playing for about 10 years and I did hear this place open up next to Taco Bell, they have a great location by the way. And well I went in their last month and they had a good selection. With a variety of things. The owner which I’m assuming is the gentleman in the front was nice. (He could be a murderer, but I wouldn’t know because of how nice he is). Anyways I get my Pokémon cards there, and I plan to do it here because he can order when needed....
