Recommend you dont purchase from Freds
They have a no returns policy because they use a maintenance department to fix appliances. In the event that an appliance is returned, you will be charged 25% of the purchase price.
This was an error on our part. We had to renovate our new home after moving. We recently purchased a floor model dishwasher that had some minor dents in it. It wasn't until I had my new kitchen installed a few weeks later that I was able to test and hook it up. When I eventually got it in, we discovered that the dishwasher would not start because the circuit fuse had shorted out.
According to Freds, who we spoke with, it occurs frequently with the make and model. It took us two months to send a technician out to evaluate it. In the end, a completely new model was used in its place. After replacing it, we were able to use the dishwasher for roughly 1.5 months.
The new dishwasher shorted out just like the old one did. The wait period for a service call can range from two weeks to a month. It takes roughly the same time to receive a part order and schedule installation. After two and a half months, we were able to get a part installed and the dishwasher started up once more. Therefore, for the amount that we were unable to use, the first broken model had been out of commission for almost five months.
We received assurances that the part would never malfunction after it was replaced. The same part broke again a month and a half later, so we had to wait another month for maintenance to be completed.
Compared to when we used the product itself, we spent more time hand washing the dishes. We didn't want the brand, so when we asked if we could return it and apply the difference toward a different model, we were told that if it could be fixed, we would, but we would have to keep it or pay a restocking fee equal to 25% of the $500 we paid for it.
The management made the decision, and it is evident that they do not support consumer rights or customer satisfaction because they sold them useless equipment. advise you to pay the extra for higher-quality appliances at a different...
Read moreThis is by far the absolute worst customer service I have experienced. Just purchased a new Maytag dishwasher on August 30, 2022, wasn't able to have it installed until Sept. 29, 2022, used for 2 weeks and dishes would never get clean, so upon further inspection by myself, the lower arm that rotates the water around was laying on the bottom of the dishwasher and the plastic support was melted to the element...ok, fine, I get it, stuff happens right?, so I proceed to order the part from Fred's Appliance and upon picking the part up was told I could easily install it, so cool, I can do that, and saving the service tech a trip. Get the part home, and get it installed, ran the dishwasher ONCE...and in the middle of the night the dishwasher starts to make beeping noises, so upon further review, discovered the memory board has condensation and the words ERR pops up in the display, within the hour the dishwasher is dead...no more power to anything, so I called Fred's to speak to their service department and was told that I could NOT return the dishwasher unless there were at least 4 service calls, which they couldn't get even get me in the schedule until December 27th...I mean, seriously??? I was told I should call Maytag direct. So ladies and gentlemen, beware of buying from Fred's Appliance in Missoula as you will just be a quick sale, not a valued customer. EDIT: In the end this situation was resolved. Since I was dealing with the death of my husband and massive amounts of company, My neighbor was kind enough to take the dishwasher out and personally deliver it back to the store. Upon doing so he encountered an employee that was much more willing to help and sent him back home with a new one on the same day. Unfortunately I did not get the female employee's name that took matters into her own hands to provide a...
Read moreA nightmare. Built new house end of 2020 with expensive appliances from Fred's. When the stove heated up the fan came on and sounded like a helicopter landing on the roof. Spent two years and 8 contacts trying to get them to fix it and still doesn't work. First repair guy took them 5 months to get to us and he brought a new fan and told me this isn't the problem. Next repair guy another 5 months and he said this isn't going to fix the problem either, and don't pay the invoice they are going to send you because the stove is defective and needs to be replaced. His name was Nick and nice fellow-he said the parts were mis-shipped and the reason for second long delay. So of course clowns at Fred's send me an invoice. I try to call local store-good luck because they don't answer and if they do they won't know what to do. Eventually I talk to supervisor Atera who refers me to Spokane WA wherein I spoke to Emilee. Very nice girl who refers me to Service Manager, Tim. Tim is an *clown with an attitude and essentially advises me that they will charge $300 to come out again. I advise this is a new stove that is faulty and under warranty. Timmy advises that it is out of warranty because it is now 1.5 years later because of their incompetence. I guess if you delay long enough the warranty runs out. Does this sound like someone you want to do...
