Froogel's — Local services in Long Beach

Be very careful of what you buy and what you get charged for. My mother went in the store and purchased 2 cases of water and some orange slices, because my mother was worried about something else...she paid and proceeded to leave. Upon realizing she was overcharged she turned around to go back into the store to get her change the manager refused to honor it because the receipt she was given wasnt even for what she bought! It had 2 "meat" products listed instead of the water which was markedly cheaper. She refused to even listen to my mother because she said she did not have a receipt but the receipt the cashier gave her which was incorrect! Idk what kind of fast one they are pulling but my mother was charged approximately double and the manager didn't do anything! Literally just walked out of the store and she refused to even listen because she had no receipt (but the one the cashier handed her!) My mother is on a fixed income and even though $6 may not seem alot to most folks, it does for her. My mother said she never is going to Froogels again. And i am hoping this review warns others (or their elderly parents) to watch your receipts carefully and the amounts your are...

My family and I found Froogles by accident. We always shopped for drinks at Winn Dixie. We wanted to find a store close to Gaston Point. Driving all the way to Walmart, or going to different towns cost us so much gas. So one day we were coming from Winn Dixie and saw Froogles. I said, "I must be blind, because I never noticed the store!" So I went in; and the rest is history. The selections were neat and fresh! A man named Donny always took my meat orders. I ordered meat by the case. This was before covic! The prices were just in our budget. I even found out about other Froogles stores. The store in Bay Saint Louis has kind staff! The one in Gulfport was larger, but the Long Beach location was my favorite Froogles store. The staff is "ALWAYS" kind, professional, and very helpful! My son has autism, and the ladies would always help him when he shopped there. There were two ladies that always ask about him. One had dark hair, and the other lady had blonde hair. One of the older ladies was very disrespectful towards me and my relationship one day. We went into her line for her to check us out and she only made eye contact with my fiancé the entire time she was scanning our groceries. She even made a smart remark after my fiancé accidentally hit his back against the shopping cart saying “oh you’re just hurting yourself all kinds of ways aren’t you?” I was instantly livid as i wholeheartedly believe that her words were a subtle jab at me as his fiancé. Also, I am a black woman in a relationship with a white man and we shop at this store pretty often so I was very upset that I had to experience the way she treated me. She also waited until the very end of the transaction to finally look at me and acknowledge that I was there and tells us both to have a great day.
