Done all the trails here in this area (except Boy ScoutTrail), but the Mount Hollywood Trail is my favorite.
Came on the date above. Recommend an Uber as parking near the trailhead is insane in both traffic and cost. Of course, the trailhead is near the observatory.
We did this as a 3.2-mile loop (adding the Hogback Trail). Recommend the AllTrails app to stay on track. I can easily see someone getting lost in the area in general. The trail is generally wide and well formed. Has some unevenness at spots, some elevation change both up and down. Clay to dirt with some rocks at spots. Would be extremely slippery, difficult, and dangerous after rain. Mostly moderate to the average hiker. Strava put our hike at about 680 feet in elevation gain.
Expect excellent views of the city in all directions, views of Griffith Observatory, the Hollywood Sign, etc. There are plenty of summit type areas along the trail.
