Boyce College — Local services in Louisville

This school is definitely imperfect, as all institutions are. But it warrants a 5 star review simply because of the faculty and the student leadership. God used those people to change my life forever during the two years I was on campus. It prepared me well for the job I am now at, having moved back home to GA and finishing my studies online.

They emphasize community, the LOCAL CHURCH, discipleship, evangelism, and STRONG and challenging Christian education. Be warned: this place is a reading and writing galore. But it’s all for your good, and I’ve walked away with life-long skills and knowledge that the faculty has helped make practical in my life.

That said, you get out of this place what you put in. If you’re considering this school, go. Do it. But be ready to accept challenges, and go out of your way to meet with professors for meals, network among the students, enjoy student activities and events, study hard, GET OFF OF CAMPUS and work a job, and show/tell people about Jesus.

Lastly— a warning: it’s “easy” to be a Christian here. Everyone knows what to do. What to say. That said, it’s easy to grow in self righteousness here. Check yourself often. Make sure your Christianity is not pharisaical and a check-list Christianity. The key diagnostic question every day at Boyce—and indeed in the rest of life—is, Do I love the LORD my God with all my heart, mind, soul, and strength?

LOVE PEOPLE! Faith without works is dead. But works without love is empty. So strive to love God and neighbor day by day while you’re here.

You will be bombarded with truth here. But remember to stay daily in the reading of the Word for yourself: alone, on your knees, in prayer, in study.
