Being from Michigan, Meijer has stood out for me as my favorite retailers for, literally, decades. On a recent visit we drove out of our way to go to this location because there was something at this location that none of the other Meijer locations in the area carry. No worry, I LOVE Meijer.
Conveniently located off of the Gene Snyder, this location is very easy to see from the expressway and to get to once you get off the expressway.
One of the things I really like about Meijer is that, for the most part, everything is in roughly the same location in every store. Yea, the store layout may be reversed (grocery on the right instead of on the left), but your mind easily adapts to that.
The staff we encountered were helpful, and even walked us to find a specific item. The store was clean and well stocked and organized. I do love the amount of items they carry that are Michigan-based, and their Frederik's line of foodery is every bit as good as the national brands.
While I'm still not a fan of the self checkout (I LIKE to talk to cashiers), these are laid out and handled well, unlike a competitive retailer whose primary color is blue and doesn't care about its customers.
Keeping shopping carts stocked inside seems to have become a burden for just about every retail/grocery store in the world. So much so that I have taken to grabbing one in the parking lot on the way in.
Given a choice, I'll always take Meijer first first. It's been that way for...
Read moreSaturday( I know I’m a few days late but life is hectic) I had went here to grab a few things. I get home a realize I left my wallet. It had probably been close to an hour by now. I call them and on hold for 5mins, I’m thinking meijer is maybe 7-10mins from my house I could probably make it there before someone gets on the phone. I frantically jump into my car. I pull in the parking lot still on hold. As I’m walking in the door someone answers the phone and I’m asking if someone turned a wallet in. A lady behind me speaks up and says a brown coach wallet? I said its MK but yes brown. She says my cart guy turned it in. I followed her to the service desk fingers crossed. Yes it’s it!! I offered to give the guy money but was told I couldn’t. She did say they have a rewards program for their employees and she would give him points. I am very thankful for this young man with all the bad in the world there is some good still. His parents raised him right and his morals are good. There wasn’t one thing missing or out of place. All the cash was there still, not to mention it’s about a 200$ wallet and how big of a hassle it is to cancel credit and debit cards to try and get a new driver’s license so glad I didn’t have to deal with that! Walmart is closer to my house but meijer just gained a...
Read moreI placed a photo cake order for my daughters birthday on July 27th it was received and accepted with no errors by the Bakery, it's supposed to be ready at 11:00 a.m. with a picture of my child's face on it. The birthday parties at noon I'm running late I come in at 11:50 to find out that on their side the photo didn't come through. And no one thought that they should call me they just accepted the order and then no one thought they should call me they just print it a blank photo cake! I've had mistakes happen with the website before where it's had glitches but they called me and made sure my kids cake wasn't ruined! I've used this exact Bakery for my all 5 of my kids birthday cakes for the last 3 years, I have never had issues from this Bakery until now. The staff the have there was incompetent the lady was genuinely confused on why I didn't still want to buy this cake for $30 when they messed it up And while I'm there not only did they mess up my cake but they're telling another guy that they dropped his cake and they still want him to buy his too. I don't know who thought it'd be a good idea to put some new people in Bakery but they need to go ahead and move them to...
