Edit: GREYSTAR IS CURRENTLY BEING SUED FOR âdeceiving consumers about monthly rent costs by tacking on numerous mandatory fees on top of advertised pricesâ!!! DO NOT LIVE HERE READ WHAT I SAID PREVIOUSLY A COUPLE YEARS AGO AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS REVIEW! look it up on google!!
I would have given this place a 0 if I could. Prepare for this as it is a long explanation. BUT DO NOT MOVE HERE. THEY DONâT CARE ABOUT YOUR SAFETY. PLEASE LISTEN TO ALL THE LOW STAR REVIEWS!! This place was at a 4.7 stars when we first moved in and itâs only steadily gone down from there. (the attached photos are cracks in the walls from foundation issues. one crack is longer than my arm!) Edit: I attached another picture, shows you how our trash people donât do their jobs.
To start off, when we first arrived to this complex they had already just recently switched owners, and now 2 years later they have switched owners yet again (on the 3rd owner in 3 1/2 years smh) and things still have not gotten better. Our trash doesnât get picked up for multiple days, thereâs nails and screws all over the parking spaces all the time, nobody picks up their dogs feces, maintenance doesnât come to look at the things wrong in your place for a long time or they will say they already did it even if they havenât (we went 2-3 weeks without AC in the middle of July) (there is one super nice maintenance lady though!), our washer and dryer trips the breaker and 9/10 you have to flip the breaker switch multiple times before the washer and dryer works again, SOMEONE IS STILL BREAKING INTO AND STEALING OUT OF CARS!! (they havenât caught the person for the 2 years iâve lived here!! My car has been broken into 3-4 times!!), the pool is NEVER open (funny how they use that to convince you to live here), they tried to say I owed fees of around $400 and when I asked what the fees were for they dropped the fees right after (interesting huh), we lose power and trip breakers just by using a vacuum, the electrical work done here is all kinds of messed up (upside down outlets, outlets that only work if you flip a switch, the breakers arenât labeled correctly, some light switches donât even have anything theyâre hooked up to), thereâs only two lights in our unit and itâs in the kitchen and bathroom (no lights in our bedroom even though they have switches and a place to hang a light from), the water pressure is absolute garbage and you have to take a shower in piping hot water if you want âdecent water pressureâ. You canât use the oven on more then 350° or you will set off both fire alarms just from opening the oven, the foundation of the place must not be great either because there are cracks along the walls and below windows. There is always people in the leasing office complaining because they donât do anything!! BUT HERE IS AN IMPORTANT PART. Me and my fiancĂ© tested positive for Covid-19 and we werenât able to turn in our rent until the 7th of the month (mind you we have never missed a rent day) and they are charging us a late fee! They wanted us to come in and expose everyone to Covid just for our rent to get paid! We had tried paying online previously but they still charged us a late fee in March that we paid. So we donât trust the âonline payment optionâ. So like I have said, DO NOT LIVE HERE THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THE MONEY!
EDIT: so they just decided to get âSmart Apartmentsâ for all units.. the technology they used must not be very smart because it wonât connect to the internet and our heating/cooling doesnât work now. We put in multiple requests to get it fixed but have yet to hear back. Weâre getting by with our space heaters. so again DONâT LIVE HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT.
EDIT: Someone who I know that previously worked for this complex (I wonât give out their info unless I am told otherwise) told me that all the new management is shady as heck and that they try and get more money out of you by adding on BS stuff!! Like I said yâall, proof is in the pudding! If youâre able to get a hold of a previous worker from here ask...
Read moreI lived here for 3 years and went through the transition from Old Management (LC) to the New Management (Greystar). I lived here with the Greystar management for a year. The new management transition was terrible to say the least. Communication with residents became awful, and no one in the office really had clue on how to help with any questions you did have. I am typically not one to leave reviews, but I had such a poor experience I had to share to save others the trouble.
At one point, they tried to give away a residents cat. They sent out a communication asking if anyone was missing a cat (provided no picture or description), and asked residents to send a picture of their cat if they're missing. Then 2 hours later they asked residents if anyone wanted to adopt a cat because no one had claimed it yet. I wish I was making that up - but that is truly the incompetency you're dealing with here. They gave a resident 2 hours in the middle of a work day to claim their missing cat, and then tried to give it away.
Using the amenities became more of a burden than a luxury. Susan the property manager would basically stalk you at the pool, and ask you multiple times in the same trip what residence you lived at. She asked me 3 times in the span of one hour.
I promise there are so many better options to live than here. Expect to receive excessive charges when you move out. I completed a move in form with LC and conveniently after Greystar took over they no longer had it. When turning in my keys I offered to do a walk through to go over any damages they felt would warrant a charge, but they refused. Fast forward 2 weeks later and they send me a list of charges with no explanation. When I followed up for more information on what i was being charged for, they just sent me pictures of the unit (which was in the same condition when I moved in). I asked for them to refer to my move in document which they proceeded to send me a blank digital copy with no signature on it, thinking I would accept that as my own completed move in form. I asked again to please supply a document with my actual signature on it, and their response was "balance will remain firm, proceed as you see fit." They made no effort to work with me on the charges, or even provide the documentation I requested. I asked several questions regarding the charges and received no response back. Basically they want to charge you for whatever they want, fair or not, and will refuse to work with you when questioned.
I could not despise this place and staff more. If you're on the apartment search I commend you to look anywhere else. This place used to be great, but since has turned into an absolute dumpster fire. Please do not waste your...
Read moreDo NOT move here. I moved in back when the property was the âLCâ and under completely different management. Previous management was helpful and pleasant, and I truly enjoyed living there. When Middletown Landing took over, the staff was replaced by truly the most vile old females (I canât even call them women)the worst of them being Susan and MJ Kimball. Their whole existence just made walking into the leasing office miserable. Most times, youâd be lucky for any of them to even acknowledge you, and honestly, Iâm glad they never did. I had packages stolen from the mail room REPEATEDLY, And the office staff basically told me each time it was my problem, theirs. The mailroom door is not even locked, and itâs in a public building that anyone who mistakenly thinks it may be a bathroom for the restaurant, can enter. The apartment numbers are extremely confusing. Iâve never had one package even delivered to my door dropped correctly, because there are like 2 apartment buildings in the same building with the SAME exactly unit number. We were excited to utilize the pool last summer, but it was closed for maintenance nearly every week, and whoever maintains the pool chemicals has NO idea what theyâre doing which is not only ignorant but DANGEROUS. the office staff does care though, as long as they can sit in their chairs all day, theyâre happy. When I moved out, Susan and mj were totalâŠ( you know where Iâm going with this) upon moving out. After one of our more negative interactions with them, I noticed there was DOG FECES on our front door! They refused me a walk out inspection, and then lied about our charges for move out and stuck me with a $800 bill on TOP of keeping my $200 security deposit. This bill was adjusted with greystar corporate, but it was still outrageous afterwards. Luckily I have the means to escalate this situation, because at the end of the day, Greystar is wrong. But if I didnât have the means or time to, theyâd just get away with it all. If you do move here or CURRENTLY live here, DOCUMENT EVERYTHING! Even the work orders!! And MAKE the office staff give you a physical copy of your lease upon signing it! Or better yet- avoid this place...
