I was looking for a private bourbon tour for my husband as a surprise. So blessed to find Sip Kentucky tour. Communication was great from the moment I inquired about the tour. I received a quick response from Marnie, even on a Saturday. From that moment on it was a great experience. I knew two of the distilleries that we wanted to visit, Buffalo Trace and Bulleit and she suggested the third, Whiskey Thief. It was great suggestion as it was so different than the other two. Steven was our guide he was prompt picking us up and greeted us with a smile. He made our day perfect. He has a wealth of knowledge to share. At Buffalo Trace we walked all around the property, we were so impressed as he shared the history of the distillery. We then went to a local place for lunch. He had pre-ordered so it was quick with good food. Steven then took us to Bulleit. He assured us that it would be a different experience, and it was. Enjoyed the tour and tasting. Off to Whiskey Thief. He took the scenic route between distilleries so we could experience the Kentucky countryside. The setting around this distillery is beautiful and calming with rolling hills with corn fields around you. He found us a table outside as he described the tasting process. Totally different as they serve you out of the barrels, so unique. Steven took great care of us, anticipated every need each step of the way. Very attentive and caring. He gave us ample time at each distillery to shop and look around. He kept us on track without us even realizing it. Never did we feel rushed. We cannot recommend this tour enough. We learned so much more about Kentucky and bourbon than we imagined. Hopefully you will be lucky enough to have Steven as your guide. Thank you for awesome bourbon tour...
Read moreThis was really a great experience. I booked short notice the day before our tour. SIP was very accommodating and there was great communication. I even received a text from our tour guide, Stephen, the night before explaining the meetup spot and time and he wanted to assure I had his number.
We met Stephen in the morning with his brand new tour van. Stephen was very personable and knowledgeable of the bourbon trail and the distilleries history. We experienced 3 distilleries and they were all very cool. The coolest was probably the last distillery, (Whiskey Thief) a very small distillery was a really personal experience. I highly suggest that experience and their bourbons and whiskies were really good.
I would absolutely suggest SIP Tours and when I return to Louisville in the future I will take another tour with them. Hopefully Stephen is still there and can take time away from his other duties to give us another tour. He was great!
Thank you SIP Kentucky...
Read moreI had the privilege of accompanying Steve and Chris on one of their first tours and couldn't be happier with the experience! The meet up was easy, the vehicle was comfortable, the guys were super friendly and informative, and lunch was fantastic. On top of all those smaller details - the quality of these distillery tours was TOP NOTCH! They are all different and you get a great variety of experiences learning about distilling, whiskey history, some of the science and just the right amount of tastings! I started as a interested but uneducated bourbon drinker and left with such a deeper understanding of the craft, the process, the history and the culture (and with plenty of great whiskeys to add to my tasting list!) -- all from some of the most iconic distillery names in the industry. The tour guides were fun and informative and the day was paced perfectly. Can't wait to recommend to my friends and...
