We recently had the pleasure of going on a tour with Bluegrass Bourbon Tours, and Adrian and I can confidently say that it was an outstanding experience. Mark, our guide, went above and beyond to make the tour truly unforgettable. From the moment Mark picked us up at our hotel, his enthusiasm and knowledge about the bourbon industry was evident. He expertly navigated us through the various distilleries, sharing fascinating insights about the bourbon-making process and the history behind each brand we visited. Mark's passion for the bourbon industry was contagious, and his engaging storytelling style kept us captivated throughout the tour. He ensured that all our questions were answered and made sure we felt comfortable and well taken care of at all times. The tour itself was incredibly well-organized by Melaine with seamless transitions between distilleries, which allowed us to maximize our time and enjoy the unique offerings of each location. The selection of distilleries was diverse, providing a comprehensive overview of the bourbon scene in the area. Her attention to detail did not go unnoticed. The SUV was comfortable, clean, well-maintained and fully stocked with snacks and beverages, making the journey between distilleries enjoyable and relaxing. The entire experience was top-notch, and we genuinely felt like valued customers. If we could, we would give Bluegrass Bourbon Tours, Melanie and Mark a perfect rating of 10 stars. We are already looking forward to returning for another tour in the future with them. If you're a bourbon enthusiast or simply looking for an exceptional tour experience, we highly recommend choosing Bluegrass Bourbon Tours, and specifically requesting Mark as your guide. You won't be disappointed! Thank you, Bluegrass Bourbon Tours Company and Mark, for an unforgettable day filled with fantastic bourbon, great company, and...

We recently enjoyed our first visit to Kentucky with two other couples for a friend’s 50th birthday, and Bluegrass Bourbon Tours made it absolutely incredible! Melanie arranged a fabulous itinerary for one of our days that included tours and tastings at Lux Row Distillers, an amazing lunch at Bardstown Bourbon Company, a Bottled-in-Bond Warehouse tour and tasting at Heaven Hill Distillery, and a Maker’s Mark tour and tasting. Our driver and guide, Mark, even managed to squeeze in a stop at Willett Distillery and capped off the day at the super cool Volstead Bourbon Lounge, where we all enjoyed some amazing cocktails and shared a memorable King of Kentucky pour to toast the milestone birthday — an experience we’ll never forget.

Mark was absolutely amazing and provided us with a truly memorable experience. We had a great time bantering back and forth on the ride and appreciated his historical insights and local knowledge — in many cases, he knew more than the guides at the distilleries! He kept the conversation fun, engaging, and educational throughout the day.

What really stood out was Mark’s flexibility and passion for what he does. Not only did he surprise us with the extra stop at Willett, but he also went out of his way to take us back to Heaven Hill before closing so we could make some purchases after their system had been down earlier. His relationships at every stop were obvious — he was on a first-name basis with staff, offered great tips on what to look for, and shared plenty of ideas for other things to do during our stay.

As we reflected on our day, we all agreed we couldn’t have asked for a better guide or companion for our experience. Mark, Melanie, and Bluegrass Bourbon Tours gave us an unforgettable day that exceeded all expectations, Thank You! We’re already talking about when...

I NEVER write online reviews, but after our experience with BBT this past Friday, I just felt compelled to! We had an awesome day!

To preface, I had done an all-day bourbon trail tour with another very well known tour group about 3 years ago and had a good experience. I reached out to them, BBT, and one other company. I chose BBT this time around because the owner, Melanie, was the first to respond to my inquiry, and her prices were competitive. She was easy to communicate with, very knowledgeable, and very prompt in all of her responses. Additionally, we were a very diverse group of friends with varying levels of appreciation of bourbon, so I left it up to Melanie to create the best itinerary for us. And she exceeded our expectations, it was perfect for us!

Our driver, Mark, was awesome! He, too, was very knowledgeable, funny, and easy to talk to. He kept us on time, without feeling rushed, and was able to get us to a 4th distillery to try some cocktails! He seemed to know everyone every where we went, and always introduced us to his friends. He went out of his way to point things out or show us things he thought we would take interest to.

The van was very clean and stocked with lots of drinks, snacks, and treats which were welcomed!

Melanie suggested we try Watch Hill Proper for dinner after our tours. This is a must do! Mark drove us there after our last distillery, waited for us to have dinner, showed us some cool things about the restaurant and then drove us back to our AirBnB. Highly recommend ending your tour here!

I have already recommended BBT to friends, and would only book with them in the future! Melanie and Mark were terrific. I have only good things to say about the whole experience!...

My friends and I had the pleasure of joining Melanie on her Bourbon tour, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. Melanie's attention to detail and her passion for bourbon were evident throughout the entire experience. She took us on a fantastic journey, visiting three iconic distilleries: Woodford Reserve, Four Roses, Buffalo Trace and Whiskey Thief. Melanie's expertise and knowledge about bourbon were impressive. She shared fascinating insights into the history, production process, and unique characteristics of each distillery we visited. Her explanations were clear, engaging, and tailored to our group's interests. Of all the stops on the tour, the Whiskey Thief was an absolute standout. Melanie's recommendation did not disappoint! After being patient waiting in line with us at Buffalo Trace and being disappointed, we ended the day using the whiskey thief to pour straight from five barrels. Melanie showed us why you choose a bourbon trail guide. Melanie's attention to the small details made the tour even more memorable. From providing water and snacks during our travels to arranging comfortable transportation, she ensured our comfort and convenience at every step. Her warm and friendly demeanor created a welcoming atmosphere, making everyone feel at ease and fostering great conversation among the group. I highly recommend Melanie's Bourbon tour to any bourbon enthusiast or anyone looking to learn more about this fantastic spirit. Her passion, knowledge, and excellent organizational skills make her the perfect guide for an unforgettable bourbon adventure. I can't wait to join her on another tour in the future!

Melanie saved our trip! We were scheduled to fly in Thursday and take a tour on Friday Aug 1st to celebrate our friends 50th birthday. Due to weather our flight was delayed and we were unsure what time (or if) we would arrive. We called Thursday evening to ask if there were any options. Melanie sprang into action, she pulled ever string she had and moved our entire tour to Sat Aug 2nd, including Buffalo Trace and Woodford Reserve on less than 24 hours notice. (Please note this is almost impossible) We ended up landing at 3:30am Friday, and would have been dragging if we did the tour on Friday as originally scheduled. Mark (Melanie's husband, sorry Mark blowing your cover) arrived bright and early Saturday morning. He is an amazing wealth of knowledge and kept us moving without us feeling pressured. With his connections we got to experience some hidden gems on the bourbon trail that only someone with years of living in the community would have. Amazingly he knew almost every employee by name at each distillery. If any Kentucky Colonels are reading this review you should nominate Mark Lopez to become a Colonel, he is an outstanding ambassador to the state. Every possible detail of the tour was thoughtfully planned out with fun surprises sprinkled in through out the day. We packed in six distillery's, lunch, and two bonus stops, all at a relaxed pace. Even though the tour was scheduled to end around 5:30, Mark offered to take us to Watch Hill Proper, and allowed us to eat dinner, which was above and beyond expectations. Thank you Blue Grass Bourbon Tours, Melanie, and Mark for making this a trip of a life time!

Our tour with Bluegrass Bourbon Tours exceeded our expectations in every way imaginable. Although we booked last minute, Melanie was able to accommodate our schedule, and incorporated some awesome experiences. We began the day at Buffalo Trace with a tour and bottle of the day. The Tour and Tasting were exceptional, and the surrounding property is quite lovely. Our next stop was J Mattingly, where we had another tasting and these folks, and their products are exceptional. We then had lunch, visited Woodford, Castle and Key, Glenns Creek having tastings there as well. Our final Distillery was Whiskey Thief and it was an absolute gem! We bottled our own straight from the barrel to bring home with us. There is also a nice outdoor seating area to hang out, have a cigar with your tastings, all at your own pace. There was some live music, too. We ended our day with dinner at Watch Hill Proper; the Bourbon selection and food were outstanding - Highly recommend! Mark was our driver, and not only is he very knowledgeable, but it is also evident he has an excellent relationship with the employees at each of the stops. He is also a LOT of fun, so that made our trip even better. I’ll add that we did a private tour and although it was more than I initially wanted to spend, I would not have done this tour any other way. It was worth every single penny, and I can’t wait to come back and do another part of the trail with Bluegrass Bourbon Tours. Book them – They’re top notch!!! PS I can't upload videos for some reason so you all are missing out, unfortunately.
