I visited the gravesite of my parents at Shalom Memorial Park on May 11, 2022. I just want to thank Wendy for her kindness in helping me locate their grave marker, walking with me to find it. She noticed that it had sunk, made a note and told me it would be raised. She then helped me locate the gravesite of my best friend’s family and also noted that their headstone needed power washing and work to the sod. She was kind and gracious and her caring was so welcomed and greatly appreciated.
A while later, when I was cleaning off the inset marker for my parents, a kind gentleman, Moish, stopped to tell me that he had a discussion with Wendy and the stone would be lifted and raised, and if there was any damage it would be fixed. Thank you so much Moish for stopping and telling me.
This is an extremely large memorial park with multiple services going on while I was there. I observed many grounds crews throughout the park taking care not only of the newer graves but also the old. Everyone was courteous and respectful.
In what I am sure is a very busy everyday workday, both Wendy and Moish took the time to stop and help. While some may say it is their job to do that, I say THANK YOU so much from the bottom of my heart.
My experience with these fine people was...
Read moreThe Shalom / Forest Hills office staff is irresponsible and incompetent. All the paperwork and profiles are handwritten, done manually on the paper with pencils. The office staff cannot physically read their own handwritten notes and contracts. The information in the contracts is all messed up. So, please be very careful when reviewing the final contracts with them in the office. We are working with Shalom office on selecting and purchasing a gravestone for our recently passed grandmother. We already had two appointments with two different reps. The reps have no information regarding the sizes, styles and prices for the gravestones available from their own contractors. The office will send you to the cemetry so you could find something that you like and later they will request the price quote from the contractor. So, basically, this puts you in a loop – select what you like and wait for the price quote and availability. PS Neither one of the office reps we spoke with bothered to call us back with the information we requested. PPS Be prepared to pay for the grave stone upfront and to wait for the stone do be shipped from China or India within a year or so (if the contractor doesn’t have it in...
Read moreOn a recent crisp and cool Fall day, I decided to visit the graves of my beloved father and maternal grandparents. I knew their stones would most likely be covered with wet leaves, so I grabbed some paper towels and a mild cleaner and headed out to give their stones a little cleaning. A super nice and very friendly gentleman approached me and my daughter during our visit. Samuel Domsky, the General Manager, introduced himself and we chatted a bit about my family and their Philadelphia history. Shocking he never heard of my father....everyone knew and loved him, but that's another story! He genuinely showed an interest and also recommended to only use water on the stone. We grabbed some water bottles I had in my car and he even helped with our mission, using his own little broom he retrieved from his car to help sweep the leaves off of the surfaces. We noticed there was a crack in the granite on my grandmother's stone and Sam assured me he would take care of it. 12 days later...he texted me a photo of the newly repaired granite! I am grateful for the fast turnaround and I know my grandmother is...
