To the owner:

I just want to say that if you want to “try and do for all” that should begin with ensuring a safe shopping experience for all. It is your business and your right to allow smoking on your property, but to try and spin it as an inclusivity thing is ridiculous when it is something that directly negatively impacts vulnerable shoppers and a smoker should be able to shop for a few minutes without a cigarette. Being outside doesn’t make the effects of secondhand and thirdhand smoke disappear.

Furthermore, I was extremely shocked when I expressed my concern over the smoking on premises by explaining that it is not safe around kids and that one of my young children is especially vulnerable as she is a cancer patient and you, with a smile and a laugh said, “well everyone has cancer”. Again, your business and your decisions, but I would consider reacting to customer concerns with empathy and not dismissing the devastation of pediatric cancer.

I am sure your business will continue to thrive and do well without our yearly support and despite our negative review, I just wanted to share my perspective on our interaction and maybe plant a seed for you to consider.

Bryan at The Flower Station did my landscaping and I was very pleased. I am a bird watcher and have feeders, so Bryan worked with me to use plants, shrubs and trees that produce berries for the fall and winter months. He followed up after the planting to make sure all went well. He actually drove by a few times just to check. All plants were exactly what I ordered and are thriving after 10 weeks. I did need to help out the work crew a bit in terms of positioning the plants/trees and they were very nice and accommodating. Work was done neatly, with removal of old bushes and remulching. I felt the price was about right; fair for the size of the plantings and work involved. Bryan is busy during the spring months but he is a good communicator and gets back to you though it may not be immediate. I have no problem recommending...

Healthy, beautiful, unique plants at great prices. They give a military discount with purchases...thank you! Sometimes the parking lot is full, but you can park on the road or in a dedicated lot across the street. Knowledgeable staff to answer questions about plants. Plants are watered and kept in good condition, unlike big box stores. They also keep a wish list for customers, in case you're looking for something specific, and they will call you when it's available. Friendly workers make such a positive difference to walk around, and you can easily find someone who actually wants to help you. ...
