ELAH is one of the last bastions of hope and acceptance and aid in Lubbock, period. The head of ELAH works tirelessly to raise their community above the waters every single day. Against political/financial resistance, in a literary desert, in the middle of red territory, ELAH has STILL managed reach those who need her most! So far I've seen ELAH; feed the hungry, clothe those in need, encourage literacy through clubs and reading lessons, create art programs, throw art parties, have community cook outs, create community closets and fridges, offer rides for disabled people to their community events, campaign for human rights, take in the lost and give hope to the hurting and I've only known about it for a year!
