First of all, I want to state that the flowers ordered were beautiful and the overall presentation was nice. This is why my review is two stars rather than one.
Secondly, this business has the absolute WORST customer service I have experienced in my 25 years of being alive (since Leslie has 10 years of experience and has apparently NEVER encountered this issue before). Not only was Leslie dismissive, condescending, and patronizing, but the owner was as well. I had attempted to order a delivery through their website via cellphone, however the address did not save, and it listed my order as a pick-up. I had placed this order on 2/8 to be delivered on 2/9. On 2/9, a conversation with the recipient made me realize she had not received the delivery at 2:30pm, so on 2/10 I called the business. Before I called, the recipient notified me that she was contacted by the business earlier that morning on 2/10 to inquire why she did not pick up the flowers.
When Leslie picked up, I explained my issue and confusion and requested a partial refund of my order. I was met instantly with hostility and blame. Leslie, quite aggressively, explained the issue and how my order was listed as a pick-up and not a delivery. Leslie or the owner had the audacity to talk down to me stating that “you sound like a young, tech savvy guy, so I am surprised this is an issue.” Talking to your customers in such an insulting manner is really a sure-fire way to make sure they never return. I accepted that my order was placed as a pick-up but now I was confused as to why no one had contacted the paying customer (me) or the recipient that the order was not picked up on the established pick-up date? They had the contact information for both parties, yet no one was contacted. The pick-up time was listed as 2:30pm, 1 & ½ hours before closing time, plenty of time to make a 30 second call.
Every time I sought an answer as to why no one was contacted, both Leslie and the owner continuously interrupted and spoke over me. I was told “we get hundreds of orders so it’s impossible for us to keep track.” Glad to know that the orders are not cared for with the expertise that Leslie had so graciously mentioned multiple times during our call. But it is curious to me that they had the time to call the day AFTER the original set date to let the recipient know that her order is still waiting to be picked up, rather than the DAY OF. The owner, however, had offered free delivery of my order, which was appreciated but still did not satisfy my question as to why they had time to call the day AFTER rather than the DAY OF to notify that the order was not picked up. Still don’t have an answer to that as when I tried to ask again the owner cut me off and stated, “we can stay on the phone and argue all day, or you can take the free delivery offer.”
I am all for supporting small businesses, but not ones that have a lack of respect for...
Read morePlease know I ordered a Fresh Arrangement of Flowers (Pumpkin Boo-quet) on Wednesday, October 20 to be delivered to my aunt at LGH.
When I saw the arrangement, I called and shared with Doyle’s Florist that I was disappointed in the arrangement. The only similarity I saw between the arrangement I ordered and the arrangement received was the Container (Pumpkin). Per an associate, I needed to prepare an e-Mail and forward pictures for the Designer and Owner to review, which I did.
I called yesterday (Thursday, October 21) to confirm the e-Mail and pictures were received. At that time, the associate shared with me that a New Arrangement was being Delivered. When I saw the second arrangement, I called Doyle’s Florist and shared this arrangement was “better than;” however, it was still not the arrangement I originally ordered.
I have forwarded a second e-Mail with three (3) pictures attached (the arrangement I ordered; the first arrangement delivered (dark and depressing) and the second arrangement delivered (better than with a bit of color; however, not the style/ colors I originally ordered.).
A person I work with was aware of the arrangement I was trying to have prepared and delivered. When she arrived home yesterday, an arrangement had been delivered to her home from Steve’s Florist, Altavista. She shared with me that her first thought was “this is the arrangement that I have been trying to have prepared and delivered for two (2) days.” And, she was correct. Her arrangement was just like the picture on Doyle’s Florist website and it was BEAUTIFUL!!
I selected Doyle’s Florist since my order was being delivered in Lynchburg. However, I will not place an order with Doyle’s Florist or recommend them to others in the...
Read moreI can't say enough good things about Bloom by Doyle's! They've helped me with flowers for two events now, and honestly, both times were just fantastic. The whole team is so friendly and really works with whatever you bring them. The first time, I walked in basically clueless about what I wanted, just some rough ideas floating around. They somehow took my rambling thoughts and created arrangements that were absolutely perfect for our event. The second time I had even less direction to give them but they absolutely nailed it again, creating something that fit our event perfectly. What really won me over was our second event was held on Valentine's weekend and despite being swamped with orders, they made sure our arrangements arrived on time and looking fantastic. That kind of care and assurance means everything when you're planning a large event. If you're looking for a reliable florist who really listens and cares about bringing your vision to life, these folks are the real deal.
(Pictured is the arrangement for the second event which was themed...
