Honestly I didn't want to give them 1 star but had to so that I could give a review. When you trade in you're jewelry it has to be for the value of the same jewelry or greater then what you regularly purchased. But when I went in to trade my Jewelry, Heather, the lady that works in the jewelry department gave me a break and said OKI you can get the earrings that were of lesser value and used the difference for a layaway. Unfortunate circumstances arose and I was unable to pay for the layaway so I asked her.Could I cancel it? She said yes, and she gave me a store.Credit for the $65.That was the down payment on what was left after previous transaction. So I'm going to the store today to pick up my pawn, which actually was an extra$20 because I was late picking it up. Wow... Then the topping is this. Heather spoke with loudness so that everyone could hear her talking. She embarrassed me with her loud tone. You know it's nothing pretty about thinking you have to be loud with yourself telling everyone that you actually did me a favor and that was a broken store policy to be begin with. So the ending of the story is I have to spend $230 to even be able to use my $65 credit, even though I had purchased something previously that purchase doesn't count because layaway was not purchased. I guess they make the rules as they along and that's not fair. Because if she had of followed store policy to begin with i wouldn't be writing this review. ADVICE FOR HEATHER: DONT BREAK THE STORES POLICY IT DOESN'T LOOK PRETTY TOO EMBARRASSED TO YOUR CUSTOMERS IN FRONT OF ADULT CUSTOMERS.IT MAKES YOU LOOK LIKE A VERY UGLY PERSON AND I KNOW YOU DON'T WANT TO LOOK LIKE THAT JUST A LITTLE ADVICE. I understand quite well, what you're saying, Mr. Hart waken of my post, but this is where I'm coming from, she didn't give me the $300 credit on the layaway, she forfeited that when the other lay away wasn't paid. I called her in good faith. So that you guys wouldn't have to put it back or do whatever I was trying to get it out. But it didn't work out that way.So I did purchase.A set of earrings with part of the 3:00 hours, which is what I didn't expect. As far as getting my $65 back. It's okay to keep the $65.I don't really need it.Yeah, I need it.I'm a poor person. That's why I come to the pawn shop but anyway. And I do understand that Heather is a model employee whatever. But she just doesn't think embarrass others in front of other people and talk all loud and stuff. It's like going into the McDonald's and here in the manager to talk down to there.Employees cause they don't make as much money as they get. It's just embarrassing and it's not really pretty. And I didn't appreciate it. I've been in management all my life.I've never embarrassed an employee or people coming in and out of my job.I was always a manager.Never a Clark, but there's just some things that are not acceptable. And that's embarrassing, somebody in front brothers.Anyway, that's really what this is about.Keep the money I could care less.It keeps me from coming in there and pawning...

As I was busy with the silver case I didn’t glance the gold until I paid. I inquired on the price of the gold eagles and about that time a young lady started packing them away and let me know the cost while doing so. I told them thank you and said maybe I’ll check them out next time.
I had some more cash in the truck so I pulled it out and checked the gold spot price and decided to pick one up if allowed as it was 2 minutes past closing. I knocked and was greeted by the same young lady and asked if I was able to still purchase the coin with cash visible in my hand and she politely said, no were closed.
Understandably turned away after closing time but with cash in hand I would have believed a quick exchange could have been made but they do have a business to run.
As I was sitting in the truck preparing for my hour plus ride back to Richmond, disappointed that I didn’t get some gold while I was here, I decided to write a review. My time is hard pressed for stopping since my travels are work related but will attempt to make it back to grab some stuff in the future.
Overall everyone seemed very friendly and helpful. Just felt when I came to the door cash in hand I wouldn’t have been turned away. This being my reasoning for only 4 stars. Would recommend to others from my experience but don’t be late!
update Due to the response from the establishment I have knocked my ego and have updated the 4star to 5 stars as they rightfully deserve.
Being a business owner I certainly understand strict policies and a pawn shop most definitely has reason for running a tight business with much jeopardized edgewise. I fully respect this and commend the kind employees because never once was I treated with anything but the utmost respect and a friendly, helpful, and pleasant atmosphere. Thank you for your business...
Read moreThere are a couple women who don't even speak to you when you come it at the jewelry area. I am beginning to think it is something personal which I think I know what it is and also mentioned this to the owner Roscoe. He claims oh he cares about his customers etc. They give a very very cold vibe I come from California and as you know all kinds of people live in LA. All I can say that it's said and petrifying to act so cold, rude and unhappy as these people. Any ways they are nice when they do a loan then after you do the loan they turn in dr jeckyl lol. I loaned a lot of things and I called over the phone to find out they claim I defaulted on everything so I had to buy back except for a few things now the first of the year I have to buy everything back these people to me show aggressive behavior as well and if you look at the better business bureau one poor guy even said that one of the owners pulled a gun out on him when I saw that I was like omg. When I buy back my things trust me I will stay far away as possible this place is dangerous. I know a couple guys that own shops up here that are awesome and don't have all these impolite folks working with them and I know they will not run a game. I think I will start back doing business...
