Review of Lynchburg, VA DMV : 3236 Odd Fellows Rd. "My visit to the Lynchburg, Virginia DMV on Monday, March 15th,17th,18th 2025, was profoundly disappointing and frustrating. I was there to renew my license and take a driving test, a process that already generates anxiety for many. Unfortunately, the DMV staff exacerbated these feelings. Negative Aspects Unwelcoming and Inattentive Staff: The front-end employees were far from welcoming. They displayed a concerning lack of attentiveness to my needs, and witnessed needs of elderly couple that recieved same experience. Providing false information and demonstrating a complete disregard for basic common courtesy. Their behavior was short, snobbish, and dismissive, treating customers as if herding cattle. Blatant Disregard for Courtesy: March 18th 2025.One particularly egregious encounter involved an employee who, when confronted about her lack of common courtesy, retorted, "I do not have to say please or thank you because it's Tuesday." This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. Misinformation and Confusion: The receptionist provided misinformation, adding to the already confusing process. The information provided online was unclear, leading to further frustration.Stated that I would have to carry a permit for 60 days prior to receiving my official license.I have had a virginia licence in the past and i am a 56 year young adult with 0 demerits and a seasoned driving record.Resulted in being false after reaching out to the DMV by phone. 1-804-497-7100.Unhelpful Management: The immediate supervisor or manager ,(C.Johnson)was equally unhelpful, choosing to defend the employees' behavior rather than address the legitimate concerns raised. Their insistence that their employees could do no wrong only added fuel to the fire.Lack of Personable Experience: This DMV location has the worst employee-customer relations I have ever witnessed.Overall Impression:"Overall, my experience at the Lynchburg DMV was inadequate and deeply frustrating. As someone already experiencing anxiety about reinstating my license, the staff's behavior significantly worsened the situation. The process, which included a written exam, eye chart recognition, and a behind-the-wheel driving test, was made far more difficult by the staff's unprofessionalism. I would strongly advise against visiting this DMV if you are seeking a personable experience. This establishment desperately needs comprehensive employee and management training focused on consumer relations and basic etiquette. "Key Improvements:Stronger language to reflect your negative experience.Clearer organization of negative aspects.Emphasis on the impact of the staff's behavior on your anxiety.Added the specific interactions that occured. Added the specific tasks that you needed to complete. This revised review is more impactful and clearly conveys your...
Read moreCOMPLAINT against DMV Teller # DMVSMB (She knows what she did, dismiss me once, twice, but a third time, is uncalled for and will be delt with...
I went with my 18 year daughter to the Lynchburg, VA DMV on ODD FELLOWS ROAD so she could obtain a VA ID replacement card and take the written drivers test. As soon as we sat down to complete the applicable forms, Teller: DMVSMB, paged our Number. We walked up to the Teller's window, and I said, we just sat down and I have not completed the form. The Teller, paused, and looked at me, and said very rudely and blutnly with eyes rolling back in her head while flicking her long black sorry weave ..."Well, What can I help with today?" I responded, calmly, my daughter needs to take the written drivers test. The Teller again cut her eyes, and quickly asked if my daughter had taken the written test before, and I calmly replied YES, she's taken & failed the test 3 times prior to today's visit. Well then This Teller, flicked her long black weave again, and very rudely said, Well She can't take the written test because she's failed it 3 times.. and where did your daughter take the test last, and I calmly said, here at this location, and this Teller again said Well if she failed it hear then she should have received papers with her next steps... So I just looked at the Teller because I could feel the Sista about to jump out, This Teller basically made us feel like idiots, by the way she responded to us and the delivery of information spoken to us. This Teller was dismisive, and thought her responses and her short snarky self was cute! She made my daughter almost cry, and my daugher is very timid. People will NEVER forget how a person made them feel ... My daughter is 18, a young adult, and was made to feel stupid, and as if we both should have known this protocol.. This Teller # DMVSMB needs CSR training and should not be assiting the public if she has a BAD attitude. Maybe this Teller did not want to work today, or maybe my daughter and I intimidated her and her long black weave. Natural beauty always outshines and glows up over the fake. I am filing a formal complaint with the Lynchburg DMV on Monday morning in person....
Read moreI paid for a driver's license from here and they handed me my paperwork confirming my purchase. As I left the building, I reviewed the document and noticed that they got my information wrong despite the application I filled out. Because of COVID-19, I could not enter unless I had an appointment so I asked the employees outside if I should be worried. Five, FIVE employees said that it wouldn't be an issue because my height (which they egregiously butchered by half of a foot) would not show up on my ID. "Okay", I told myself, because in two days I had another appointment that would allow me in the building.
I return two days later and lay out my concerns, to which the manager determines "I should have come inside immediately after realizing that my paperwork was messed up." However, I can't do that with their current security measures. Additionally, five of her employees told me it was not worth me going inside to fix. The employee which handed me the paperwork in the first place gave me no indication that I should have reviewed the paperwork confirming the transaction...I never even signed the document confirming that everything was correct! She simply said that my application was complete and that the paper I had just recieved was, essentially, a receipt.
My height will show up on my ID, which her employees lied about. When I asked if they could fix it, they said it was my fault and that I would have to pay for a new license. What should I have expected from poor management, shoddy half-effort workmanship under the government? Apparently not any customer service. People need to be fired at this place if they aren't going to be properly trained or provide any real customer service. If I could have come inside to fix it sooner I would have, but not acknowledging that your team put false information and essentially stole $40 from me for an official...
