Heather & Vine Fine Floral Design — Local services in Lyons Township

My out of state family called and ordered flowers. They were told the arrangement would include hydrangeas, roses and snapdragons. The cost was $80 plus tax and delivery. The arrangement arrived and it was pretty but very petite and skimpy, 10 stems in a glass container. It did have 1 pretty gerber daisy as a focal and 3 roses as requested, the remaining were ordinary substitutes and filler. There was no more than $20 worth of flowers, very disappointing and upsetting, Just wondering, if this was an $80 arrangement, how many flowers would a $50 arrangement have. My sister called and spoke with Janet. She was reported pleasant and more than happy to send more flowers. She personally delivered a second arrangement, it was a disaster in a glass container. Nothing was arranged, tall flowers were in front with shorter flowers in the middle. One oversize hydrangea was in the center with glittered twigs sticking out everywhere. Flowers were haphazardly thrown in a vase with a wilting dusty miller sagging down the side, It was the saddest looking arrangement ever. Many of the reviews for this shop are wonderful so i don’t know how these 2 arrangements slipped by. I called and spoke with Janet and told her how disgusted I was with both arrangements. She told me she was hurt and insulted, unfortunately my sisters feel like they were scammed and taken advantage of. In an attempt to support small businesses, I chose to order Mother's Day flowers from Heather and Vine. The arrangement turned out very pretty and my mom loved them; however, the staff here proved very challenging to work with. I live out of town and placed my order online, specifying pick up since my brother was able to get them on Saturday. I called the same day the order was placed to let them know my brother was picking them up and confirm the details. The lady informed me she left a note with the order saying my brother would be coming and it all seemed fine. Two days later, without any phone call, my order was cancelled due to "being out of the delivery range". This was very frustrating as the order stated for pick up and I had talked to someone to confirm. When I called back to RE-place the order, I was basically forced to order over the phone versus online so they could receive all the profit, instead of giving a share to the website company. Each time I placed the order, I was asked what I wanted the card on the bouquet to read and gave the message, both online and to the lady on the phone. When my brother went to pick up the arrangement today, he was told they couldn't print a card and had to make one himself. I chose Heather & Vine from the preferred vendors list at Harry Caray’s Banquets for my daughter’s 18th Birthday celebration. Both Cheryl and Janet were so accommodating throughout the whole process, even with my late booking at only two weeks before the event. I sent multiple inspiration photos to illustrate my vision, and Cheryl came up with a centerpiece design that was absolutely stunning! So many guests wanted to take a centerpiece home, that I almost didn’t have one to take home for myself. The pink roses they provided for a special tradition were also gorgeous. My SIL from out of town even joked that she wanted to take one on her flight to grow it in her backyard. I highly recommend Heather & Vine and will definitely use them again!
