There are pros and cons to this place. I love how neat my braids are and they did the perfect size for small box braids. However, the bad almost outweighs the good.
Hereās the bad:
Lack of cleaness: This is a big one for me and almost a dealbreaker. The girl that was braiding my hair kept cleaning the hair off the bottom of her shoes and did not wash her hands before touching my head. Secondly, they didnāt have any soap to wash your hands in the bathroom. I found some hand soap in the shampoo area and I used that to wash my hands. However, I didnāt see anybody else do that which means that they are using the bathroom without washing their hands or was just washing their hands with plain water. Either way itās nasty. Before I left, I used the bathroom and one of the girls saw how I came out to get the hand soap from the shampoo area and thatās when she finally filled up the soap container. Mind you, Iād already been there 10 hours. I used the restroom when I first got there and there was no soap. I washed my braids as soon as I got home. Thereās no way I was going to lay those nasty braids on my clean sheets.
My time is valuable: I had to sit and wait about an hour after my scheduled appointment time.
It took about 10 hours to get my box braids done. I was planning to run some errands after I got my box braids because I was scheduled to go out of town, but I wasnāt able to get anything done after getting the braids so that put my plans behind schedule.
Lack of morals and integrity: While I was getting my braids done, they had the bright idea to turn to a show called Power Ghost or something like that. About every other word was a curse word and it had plenty of nudity as well. Who does that in a public business? And then the girl who was braiding my hair, she had audacity to turn my chair to face the show like she was trying to force me to watch that. That was completely unprofessional.
So all that to say⦠I like my braids, but the experience was extremely frustrating so Iām not going to say I wonāt ever go back. Iāll keep them as a back up if I canāt find anywhere else to go. This place cost much more than other places that Iāve been to so I would expect better.
These are all very fixable things. The braiding skill is there, but unfortunately, the cleanness and the professionalism is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was referred to this salon by a good friend. I trusted her referral as she has had her hair done prior. I called/text for pricing and made an appointment with no problem. Appointment was for 9 am. I even confirmed the appointment two days prior. I arrive early on the day of the appointment. At 9 AM I go to the door and it is locked, no one inside the salon. 9:05 I text the # to inform I am here but the door is locked. I am texted back "Please be patient as you wait in your car outside. We are on the way." No apology nothing. I waited until 930, still no one. At 940 I get a call and a text. "We are here now you can come inside". Clearly we all know this is not how appointments work. By 930AM I already started making calls to go else where to have my hair done. By the time they arrived I was already driving to another braiding salon closer to my house. As soon as I arrived they were ready for me. This business clearly does not respect the time of their clients. If they did they would be on time or at least notify the client of their tardiness. I will not be returning due to their lack of professionalism. There is so much competition in Smyrna for hair braiding you would think they would take appointments more seriously. When I texted an hour later that I decided to go else where due to the 40 minute wait past my appointment time then an apology was finally given via text not we are so sorry please return for 10 off your service or anything to compensate me for my wasted time.It is a shame because I did hear good things and was looking forward to having them do my hair and being a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWas referred to this shop by my daughterās friend. I made an appointment last week for 9am today. Got here this morning after a 12hr shift so that my daughter could get her hair braided, and no one was there. I called and texted and no one answered. I sat in the parking lot for 30 mins because I felt āmaybe they oversleptā. Still no call back nor text back. I drove over 30 mins for this appointment, so you can imagine how tired and disappointed I was. After I left, around 1019 is when they decided to call me back to let me know they had overslept due to a ālate nightā. By that time I was already headed to take my daughter home so I could go BACK to work to attend an in service. When I left the in service I asked them if I could bring my daughter and they stated they were booked. I felt that they should have squeezed her in considering it was their inconvenience. I do understand that when someone is tired, you may oversleep. However as a business owner it would have been more professional to text me the night before indicating that you had worked late and would need to push my appointment back. You know your body more than anyone. The shop is scheduled to open at 9am anyhow. Now I am stuck trying to find someone to braid her hair, which this is last minute. Iām so...
