Ivie's Grocery — Local services in Mackay

Had to stop here to get a few things on our way to Clayton and we're quite disappointed. Obviously don't expect a ton for a small grocery store in a tiny town, we got what we needed but the employees were suuuuper rude. Checkout area is super tiny and awkward and my boyfriend accidently started pushing the cart in where it doesn't go and the cashier just started gesturing to where it was supposed to go looking at him like he was completely stupid and was just rude in general. Don't think he even said maybe 2 words to us (and yes, he could talk). For being a small town store, it had the items I was looking for. Cigarettes were even a decent price and I expected them to be outrageous. Juice was a little expensive and the freezer section was small, but the cereal choices were right on. They had several generic choices for only about $3.50 for a large bag. I was worried the taste wouldn't be very good but they were fantastic. All in all, this store knows how to keep prices low and the selection decent. I will definitely go to this store again. No need to drive the extra way to go to an Arco...

Nice small grocery. Prices were good on essentials but an 8 pack of soda rings up at nearly $9! Checkout was fine but seems to be a lack of appreciation for the customers in grocery stores in this valley. Very terse checker but I don't know...
