My family and I went in Food Depot in Fort Valley yesterday 11/21/21. Our experience was GREAT š Right up till we got to the register... The bag boy bagged the two customers whom had very little to bag in front of us, then when it was our turn, he left with a quickness. The cashier asked him nicely, "Aren't you going to bag these ladies groceries?" The boy shook his head, didn't answer other than that, then I believe put headphones in and walked away quickly. The cashier wasn't being rude, she merely asked a question. Another employee seemed to get rude with the cashier as well. She told him that the boy "HAD TO go do a walk at that exact time, talk to corporate". Ok, that's fine, we TOTALLY understand that. The thing we hated most was the way that the cashier was treated. If the other employee was a manager, shame on you. Excellent customer service would've been to A. Get someone else to help bag, instead of trying to argue with the cashier in front of customers B. Stop standing at the next register over talking to another employee and help yourself or C. Apologize that he was just doing his job and couldn't stay to help, and then offer a solution for the poor cashier! We had A LOT of groceries. We don't mind bagging our own groceries. That's NEVER a problem. The disrespect was horrible. We go out of our way to go to that store in particular, we usually enjoy our visits. This time, I have to say, we'll have to think hard about going back. Anyone could tell that the cashier was frustrated and apparently that bag boy leaves the cashiers often. PLEASE treat your employees better. The cashier was GREAT, how do you expect to keep awesome employees if you let them be treated like they mean nothing to you? I'm sure there is someone that could be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen I moved here, I was immediately WOW'ed by all of the Food Depot produce I could get on clearance; so I returned a few more times for just that. I use it mostly for seeds and compost in my garden though. I have bought some meats there; but half of it looks old, and probably should be frozen, used ASAP, or thrown out. Pay an extra 10% at the register, and the food is going bad by the next day?? Also, the improper labeling is a hassle. I went there yesterday for the clearance veggies, brisket, and fish. The half brisket was mislabeled as NY STRIP STEAK!! Needless to say, it stayed right there. Most of the catfish fillets' labels were missing/had fallen off; so I took one that was stuck to the side and slapped it back on the bag. When I got to the register, it looked like everyone who worked there was up there, waiting to jump me or something. I knew it had to be about the fish, because the cashier asked one of the guys about the price, even though the label rang up as EXACTLY what it was. I have heard of this type of behavior at Walmart stores, back in the day; but I will not be putting myself in danger there again, because they always THINK I am stealing. I look and move different because I am. If you watch me and expect me to shop like everyone else, you would be wrong. Most of the time, I visit every single aisle, because I have time and do not want to miss anything. If that will get me and my husband beat up around here, I will just stick with online shopping-at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am beyond disappointed in my experience at food depot. My daughter got a job here recently and it was not what our family expected, especially after being paying frequent customers. My daughter put in days to go on a family vacation with us. As we were on our way back, she called to ask what days she was supposed to work only to be told she had bee taken off the schedule for not coming to work. She also had a instance to where her drawer came up short because management can't keep control of employees. This was all in the time span of 2 weeks! I left my number wr management for the lead manager to call me with no avail. The older cashiers are just as messy as the young individuals there who do not wish to work. Not to mention the customer service is as horrible as the smell of the rotting vegetables and rancid meat they try to sell after it's gone bad. This establishment is a significant departure of the conduct I would expect of a food depot franchise. I would highly suggest termination of the older cashiers in the front and remedial training on customer service and...
