The Northside Dr Popeye's is without question the worst fast food establishment I have ever been to. Not just the worst of any Popeye's in the area, the worst of any fast food chain in the area. Period!
I live about a mile away from this location. In the 1.5 years I have lived here I have gone to them 6 times, hoping that maybe they're better now, because I enjoy Popeye's food. In those 6 times of going to this location I have quite literally not once been able to get everything I wanted to order off of the menu. They are either out of something, something is broken, they claim to no longer serve that item despite not changing the menu, etc.
In those 6 times they have mildly messed up our 3 times and severely messed up our order twice. The latest incident that finally prompted me to leave this review (as I have never left a Google Review before) was tonight 1/21/24. I decided to order ahead via their app as they usually take a ludicrous amount of time to complete orders. Straightforward order: 3 pc Chicken Tenders meal for me, 5 pc Chicken Tender meal for my wife, a side of Mac and Cheese and a strawberry biscuit for my daughter.
I waited 10 minutes after submitting my order before even heading up there and then still spend almost 15 minutes sitting in the drive-thru waiting once I arrived and talked to them. When I first got there there was a sign on the box stating their drink machine was broken. So when I got up to the window I told the guy to switch our drinks to sweet tea as that was all that was available. This is the third time I have been there that the drink machine was broken and I was forced to order something else. Then the guy asked me to pull up before coming to my car a few minutes later to inform me they are out of Mac and Cheese. I tell him to swap it out for Mashed Potatoes.
I finally get my order and head home. When I got home, here is what was in the bag:
My 3 pc Tender meal with correct sides.
My wife's 5 pc Tender meal, but they were spicy tenders, which is not what she ordered, and no side for her combo
The replacement Mashed Potatoes and no Strawberry Biscuit (also the containers had upside down drink lids sealing them which was just kind of weird)
So to review; We couldn't get the drinks we ordered, we couldn't get my daughter's Mac and Cheese we ordered, they gave us the wrong type of tenders, and they forgot to even give us multiple parts of our order in the bag.
Seriously, do yourself a favor and just make the drive to one of the other Popeye's in the area. At least then you can order from the entire menu and hopefully receive what you...
   Read moreI knew about the reviews of this recently-opened location. But, I hadn't had Popeyes in a while, and I was hungry. I ordered through the app and selected pickup at 7:40 pm. The app confirmed, but said my food would be ready at 7:20. Huh, okay. My receipt came in by email a moment later.
I arrived at 7:24 pm, and tried to go inside. There was no sign, not even one displaying their hours, but the door was locked. I instinctively headed to the drive thru... but there was a sign on the machine saying the speaker didn't work! I waited for a few minutes while the four or so cars in front of me placed their orders, waited for their food, and left. Finally, I was at the window at around 7:45 pm.
When I told the lady that I had an online order, she politely told me that it hadn't come through yet. Huh. She asked to see what I ordered, and I pulled up my receipt on my phone. First, she told me that they were out of the red beans and rice that was supposed to be part of my order (that I had already paid for) and, again, politely asked what they could replace it with. Okay, fine. But then, she told me they didn't have any fresh spicy chicken and would have to batter new chicken and drop the fryer basket. She asked me to pull into a spot and wait about 15 minutes. Augh, okay, fine.
At 8:08 pm, someone came through the rain to hand me my order. Everyone was pretty polite, and my order was largely correct and tasted pretty good. However, the coleslaw I got said it was supposed to have been discarded at 10:27 am this morning. Anyway, my biggest issue was the logistics of what I just went through. This includes waiting to make can order, and then after making the order. When making the order, they were out of a few menu items, which is ok-That happens. I asked for Spicy chicken and they said they were out and would be about 20 minutes to make more and I said no I didnât want to wait anymore. So after that, it was about 25 minutes before they even gave us the food. So I asked if they made more Spicy since the wait was long and they were like no. Lol What was really upsetting was we waited all that time only for them to get my order wrong! Went back, the fixed it but they had a slight attitude about it. (Probably because I was annoyed so the lady may have been reacting to energy) The food was it ok... The worst thing was the red beans & rice. The rice was hard and looked like glass⌠like it was fried or perhaps it was day old rice or something. It was like old rice mixed with new rice and tasted old. The best thing was the biscuit.
