There is a new gravel construction access road that leads into the park off of Milwaukee st. Last time I came here in the spring, I thought it was an actual park for hiking. The bike path cuts through the northern end of it, but the southern portion nearest to Woodman's grocery is essentially a homeless camp. There is trash and abandoned tents everywhere.
