Algonquin Records — Local services in Maine Township

Little out of the way record shop that you'll miss if you blink. There is not a lot of space in here, but a surprising amount of records for this tiny location. Records are dirt cheap here! There's a large section of dollar records, and a decent amount of 25 cent records. They are not sorted by genre, so it's just luck of the draw for as much time as you have to sift through. They are up high though, so you won't have to crouch down.

There's a small section where records are sorted by genre, and there are very few sorted in this fashion, but they were all $5. There's another section with pricier albums, new stuff or rarities. But all in all, this the place to get the most for...

Never judge a book by it's cover. Algonquin records may not look like a great branded retail chain, but it has what you came looking for, which is an outstanding supply of vinyl. If you ask the man behind the counter for what you are looking for he will assist you, if it is not in the store, he will bring it in for you. This guy does it out of love of music. Do not let the store and the surroundings freak you out!, Engage with the proprietor this is a great resource. For what it is worth I highly recommend...

I used to love this store. I saved up my allowance and probably bought my first 50 LPs from here. I can't believe they are still in business. I've suspected the place is just a front for some other back end enterprise or I would have brought back all my mint condition LPs to them when my parents moved. Unfortunately, I think all of my beautiful records got thrown...
