I blame my brother for telling my kids about this store. They were excited to see what they might find so we went in. If you've never been to a store like this, it's worth it. We walked through the entire store trying to look at everything and I'm sure we missed a lot. My brother described this as kind of a Japanese dollar store. They did have quite a few items that were inexpensive including some candy and food products. They also had some fairly expensive anime type products as well as a lot of Hello Kitty merchandise. I did find quite a lot of things that I thought would be useful but that I didn't want to have to transport all the way back home. In the end all I personally bought was a teaspoon, which I really liked, and some candy products I had not seen before. Both the kids with me picked out some items that they also purchased and like me they ran across a lot of stuff they like to have. I'm sure we will get back at some later date and hopefully find some more interesting products that I'm just not used to here in this country.

Totally worth the trip if you're up in the northern...

I love going here, it's so much fun to see all the stuff here that you don't usually find. I needed a clear id card and couldn't find one unless I had to go online, which I couldn't really do at the time. Then I came here and suddenly saw a transparent case for my ID!

I adore the wide selection of stationary, so many things to buy and I often splurge a ton here, everything is just so easy to afford! Not to mention they often rotate some of the items so that you can see something new every other week. I don't always come here and when I do it's usually twice a month. But it's always worth it!

I often wish there was a Daiso in Chicago and this makes up for it, it's all the same things you would find there and more! I love going here and will continue to do so :D

(p.s, are y'all going to supply the store with some of the limited Persona 3 Reload 100 ¥ charms and stuff? I heard that they were coming to Daiso. I would probably buy the whole...

Hello Tokyo has amazing and well made kitchen gadgets for $2.25, dish scrubbers and long scarf like bath scrubbers you do not see in other stores. Little Lego like animal and car kits, fun hair cutting scissors and cute hair ties, origami, great house slippers, sturdy dustpans with long handles, cute canes for very low prices, exercise bands and equipment, ping pong paddles, etc. Most items $2.25 unless marked and a more expensive but wonderful assortment of anime toys, accessories for a bigger price tag if interested in ANIME. Delicious Japanese snacks, love the mayo in the squeeze bottle, kikoman soy sauce in the pouring bottle, table ready, and the teriyaki seaweed. I always find something new and delightful on the shelf to try or use. Gotta see it...

🎉 💖 FREE birthday shopping spree for kids?! Yep, it’s real—and it’s become our favorite birthday tradition three years in a row at Hello Tokyo. 💕🐱 Bonus: Birthday celebrant also gets a free photobooth picture! How it works: 💗 Must be on your child’s actual birthday 🤍 Bring proof of birthday (birth certificate or passport) 🐱 Ages 4–12 only 💖 20 minutes to shop (the countdown makes it extra fun!) 💕 $20 credit - if they spend more, you just pay the difference 🤍 Items start at just $1.99 (used to be $2.25!) Such a fun way to celebrate and make kids feel extra special on their big day. Hello Tokyo has quickly become one of my favorite Asian stores in the suburbs. 📍 Hello Tokyo, 9038 W Golf Rd, Niles #OthePlacesWeGo #ChicagoThingsToDo #BirthdayFreebies #ChicagoSuburbs

Great store with many items you can use around the house/apt or when traveling. I prefer this place over places like Mitsuwa. Way less people and not crowded. Also, you don’t have to worry about driving around the parking lot to get a space closer to the entrance. They have more than enough parking. It’s located in a strip mall. Prices are cheap. If you’re expecting this to be like $1 for every item then you should look elsewhere. It’s not called the Dollar Tree. They have more useful items to clean your kitchen or cups. For some reason you can’t find some of that stuff on Amazon or Walmart. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Mostly teenagers and younger people here. If you sign up with their rewards program, you can earn free items.
