Chabad & F.R.E.E. of Niles — Attraction in Maine Township

My shul. When I'm there, it feels like I am surrounded by family, as my family must have davened 60 or 70 years ago. They are welcoming, kind, attentive, & truly care about everyone who contacts them & comes to worship. They offer many varied activities, & programs, and opportunities to volunteer & help others.

One of our rabbis, Rabbi Binyomin Scheiman, is the Illinois Chaplain for all of the Jewish men & women in Illinois prisons & jails. Three of his sons aid him in visiting the prisoners. Rabbi Scheiman's wife, Avigail Esther, assists with the Hinda Institute, & other programs. Our other Rabbi, Rabbi Naftoli Hershkovich- Katz, is also very kind & attentive, & aids his congregants, as well, assisting the F.R.E.E. people, & all of us. His wife Rebbetzin Raizel Hershkovich, runs the Rosh Chodesh Women's program, & other programs. There is a wonderful summer & winter camp, run by Rabbi Schneur & Rebbetzin Ester Scheiman & others.
