Warehouse Direct — Local services in Maine Township

My university has an exclusive deal with Warehouse Direct for office supplies. This is supposed to ensure that we get the best prices. But instead we get slow deliveries, fewer choices, and higher prices. I bought a standing desk from them, which they suggested (there was only one choice). It wobbles awfully. I told them this was unacceptable, and instead of accepting a return, our contact set up four meetings with their supplier, who all told me the product should work ok. No offer to return the desk, just me wasting my time and losing productivity. This same desk (the Hon Coordinate) sells for slightly cheaper than we paid on Amazon, BTW, where there are many other choices.

I purchased a white board for WD for $320. The literal exact same item is $160 on Amazon.

I've tried ordering mechanical pencils through the company, since I have no other choice, and twice been told they don't actual sell the item on their page.

The prices make you feel like it's such a great deal. Don't be fooled. Their customer service is horrible. They use third-party freight for delivery and do not deliver on time. It's not worth the hassle or the few dollars saved. I will never shop here again. I called after product had not arrived four days after the end of the delivery window and was told by customer service where the shipment was, but they couldn't give me an estimate on arrival, because another company handled that. Called the third-party company and their customer service apparently thought her job was a joke or that my lost shipment was. The worst experience ever! Don't do it...

I am extremely disappointed with Warehouse Direct's customer service. When we applied for an account, it took an entire month to hear back from them. We had to reach out multiple times to get any information regarding our application.

Debbie Gorman, in particular, was very rude and unhelpful. She did not provide any of the information we requested and made the whole process unnecessarily difficult.

This would have been our first time doing business with Warehouse Direct, but due to this poor experience, they have lost our business for good.
