Homeowner beware, this is worth your time to read. I have never reviewed a company online with a bad review, but I feel that it’s very important to share and warn other neighbors of our experience of A-top roofing in Manalapan NJ. We trusted A-top would do the correct job based on other reviews we read, the fact they are GAF certified, and have a large presence in our town which further led us to believe they would deliver a correct roof install. We recently had a new roof installed on our home by A-top. The contract was for an entire new roof. Currently our home has a new extension as well added. A-top installed the roof over our extension and existing home. During the first major rainstorm which was aprox 3 weeks after the install we had water pouring down our walls and into our finished living room/kitchen and even down to the basement because of the volume of water. This was not over the new extension but over our existing home. We never had a leak in this home in 20 years. In short, we contacted A-top who came to inspect. They told us the job was done correctly and that our siding was old. They said our old siding was leaking, but that wasn’t the case by far. We contacted a local GAF certified installer who came out to inspect the job. The company said the flashing was never sealed and just laid against the building with tape. The flashing was supposed to be installed correctly for a home that already has siding regardless of the type or age. The new company said our siding although old is still sealed and installed correctly. A 23ft seem open to the elements outside where they explained that A-top should have flashed the job as per the contract. The contract states “Re-nail and RESEAL all other existing flashings accordingly”. When A-top came to the job after the complaint was made we repeatedly told them to fix the job as per the contract and RESEAL the flashing. They stood by decision to not perform any repairs. I attached photos of some of the spots where you can see the flashing just peeled away. Again Atop inspected this and said this was done correctly. Water can just pour into the home through the opening which it did. I read other reviews here of people saying the company is arrogant, but this goes way beyond that. We were contact by the company management who had yelled at both me and my pregnant wife. When I use the word yell, they were literally screaming because we filed a complaint with GAF who will investigate their workmanship. This caused us stress as you can imagine how our hands felt tied while we were tying to seal our home from the next rainstorm and we have A-top management yelling at us. Management form A-top told us to, and I quote “Lawyer Up”. We are now moving forward with legal action. We would never have imagined such a large company would put us through this. Please be aware of doing...

I cannot say enough about the guys from A-TOP. I contacted Kenny back in July with a number of issues in my house. I had water coming into my dining room from my front windows and door which was spilling out on to my dining room floor also causing issues in my basement. No one could figure out where it was coming from. These issues plagued me for years and I was finally committed to resolving the problems. They recommended that I replace my windows, front door and fixed a whole host of other problems causing water issues including the soffit over my front door. After replacing my front door and windows a huge storm came and water was pouring into my basement. I contacted Dave by text on a Friday evening and he and Kenny immediately came over to assess the situation and help get the water flowing into the french drain. As we tried to figure out where the water was coming from Dave was there to help supplying me with blowers, a dehumidifier and disinfectant to remove the horrid smell from the water. During this time, I also discovered water upstairs in my closet due to grout issues in my shower. Kenny recommended Quality Grout and Tile and they were prompt, efficient and affordable. After several weeks of basement water, we all determine that the water in the basement was ground water. They suggested I consider installing a larger french drain and additional sump pump. For this job they recommended Mendola Waterproofing. They were also prompt, efficient and affordable. Throughout the entire process-which has been about 7 months -they were there to assist and support me in these repairs. They even helped me through the insurance process as the water damage in my dining room was due to damage from a storm. These guys are knowledgeable, hard working, professional people. I highly recommend them for your home repairs. They do most of the work themselves. For the work they don't do they recommend other highly qualified professionals to fix your problem. Thanks Dave and Kenny....

Close friends recommended this company. From the first day of work, we had various issues with the site supervisor not doing his job, things discussed during signing not completed and damage to our property covered up / not disclosed. A-Top was great with ensuring things were corrected but over the weeks, we've had crews arrive with no idea what they're fixing, crews that tell us they can't fix certain things, a crew that show up unannounced, or crews that simply don't show up. Communication with the company is very challenging as you have various managers contact you and promise you that they've cover this or discount that but a few day will go by with no information or when you call to check in, they're unaware that the job has to be corrected. Again - A-Top is dedicated to ensuring problems are fixed and they did come out and correct all our concerns / issues but the end result is sloppy work which again needs to be addressed. A-Top also took out our $5,000 deposit twice... once at signing and then the other day almost a month later after everything was already fully paid off. This was only discovered after my clients called to say my checks were bouncing. When I called their financial department - they had no idea why this happened and told me they would call back.... no one called back. Now I'm working with the bank to get this reversed. This company has been been extremely frustrating to deal with.

I recently hired A-Top Roofing and Construction to get our leaky roof replaced and I am extremely happy with the results. The crew was totally professional. Both Barry and Charlie kept me plugged into the whole process. I had a couple of issues that Charlie jumped on right away to resolve. The guys made sure that the entire job site was cleaned up before they left. I strongly recommend giving A-Top a buzz to get an estimate (ask for Kenny) before you make a final decision on who to use. The price I was quoted (I got three quotes) was by far the most attractive and with no hidden surprises. I also found the installation of the perma-boot vent pipe flanges to be the icing on the cake with the installation. Always nice dealing with a local family owned company.
