This place totally ROCKS! My son IS on the Autism Spectrum (11yo, very verbal, intelligent, moderate-high functioning), visits often, and places it at the top of his favorites. It truly is a place every kid is welcomed. I think he especially likes that he can be a big kid and a helper on things like the zip line but also indulge the insecure younger self in him without ridicule. The staff are patient and playful, but the owners are downright angels. Tom keeps a watchful eye, helps diffuse, and lends a hand when asked if he sees my son's stress level rising. He shows genuine interest and is incredibly affirming. One day, I watched him teach a toddler step by step how to safely descend the slanted rock climbing wall; it was amazing. We take for granted sometimes what we know, forgetting all the little details we have mastered to do it well; Tom just instinctively seems to get it and proactively share it.
The place is filled with heavy-load equipment like swings you might see in an Occupational Therapist's office, a big trampoline, and a zip line. As well, there is a model train table, doll house area, arts & crafts area, some smaller playground & toddler type play things, dress-up clothes, and a quiet area with low lighting, bean bag chairs, books, soft music, and small sensory objects. They also have a small gift shop and a party room.
When we held our son's birthday there, they took care of most of the details and charmed everyone so much, most of the kids were begging their parents to bring them back. When families old and new attended WRTS's Halloween Party, I saw the same. They had themed refreshments, simple but classic decor, piped in Holiday tunes, and crafts. Parents were able to enjoy some chat and laughter with each other in the party room and to move freely between there and the gym area without the need to be right on top of their kids non-stop. We are so very grateful to WRTS and for what it has added to our lives. We know we can send our son with his godfather there for hours of play, and everyone will have a safe...
Read moreIt's a super cool place for my toddler, she always enjoys herself when there. Lots to pick from to do, she stays fully entertained the full 2 hours! My only complaint is we have been there a few times and the bathrooms just aren't super clean, theres buildup in the corners/on the floor. I can tell they haven't been deep cleaned In awhile. When changing my daughter, I had to wipe down the changing table beforehand and my wipe was dirty after doing that, it wasn't clean. With all the children/parents in & out I would be cleaning it daily, doing a "deep clean" weekly, & the changing table wiped down every few hours. Also not sure what happened to the ball pit balls but there's just a slide that goes into an "empty" ball pit. My daughter used to really enjoy that. Edited to add- last time we were there a staff member had an attitude with my 2 year old daughter 🥲 she was a younger girl and they were near closing time. We were exiting to put our shoes on and my daughter of course ran over to where your suckers were and wanted one. The staff member processed to say in a very mean tone "you need to listen to your mom" because I was telling my daughter to come sit down so I could put her shoes on. That's not the way to approach a 2 year old, especially one that's neurodivergent. I didn't think that comment was very nice or understanding. She's a 2 year old, she can't rationally follow every direction like an adult does. Like cmon. I know you were about to close but please don't talk go my child like that. It's not even really so much what she said, it was the attitude and frustration behind it. My daughter wasn't just grabbing stuff so I...
Read moreI absolutely cannot say enough good things about this place AND the owner. He goes above and beyond to make it a wonderful experience. Non autistic children are welcome and embraced here as well. I love everything about this place and my children have fun for literally hours. You are allowed to leave and come back the same day and it is just made so comfortable and easy here that I would recommend it to anybody my boys are 5 and 3 and always have a blast. I've all I've already raved about it on Facebook and just finishing my trip now Google reminded me to rave here as well. The best part of our trip today is they get free admission for their birthdays and 30 days after so I only had to pay for one child. We were entertained for way less than we would have been at the magic house because you don't have to pay for adults here. It is a win-win and you also get a sibling discount. Leslie and my children literally think of the owner as a very good friend. Every visit with every child he takes the time to get to know them and help them with equipment if moms are busy. He has a son who is autistic and has built this place to be the best it can. What a kind and awesome person. He truly cares about each person that walked to the door and on top of that it's so clean. I can never say enough good things whenever we go to St Louis now we stop on...
