It's a very intimate, casual tasting room for MKNZ's indie brews. Shout out to the young lady tending bar, who made us feel less awkward standing at the bar for a bit, by being so genuinely friendly and helpful. Loved that she made an effort to chat with everyone. Making everyone immediately feel welcome is one of the most important things a bar can do to keep us coming back. 🍻 We started off with a Dark Skies IPA and a Rye, then followed up with tastings. Of the tastings, the Cream Ale was my fave, very clean. I'd definitely go back for another Dark Skies IPA, which was like the smoothest love child of a stout and not-too-citrusy IPA.

Amazing beer! I’ll start with that. They have a couple standard beers (American wheat and American brown - both delicious!) and then the rest are rotating/seasonal. Hopefully you’re you’re lucky enough to get the scotch ale or dubbel. The Fenton area has been needing this for so long. So here’s a few things that I love that you need to know...you can bring in food (or order in some Sugarfire even!). Bring a growler and get it filled to take home (I bought more growlers just so I could get a variety). Late night happy hour...8-close...dollar off each beer. And surprisingly reasonable prices for a microbrewery. Just love this place!

This place is an amazing hidden gem! They have a great selection of original beers. I tried maybe 4 of them, and they are all super tasty and go down crazy easy! Their pizzas are fantastic as well! The server was really nice, friendly, and helpful. This place is absolutely a 10 out of 10!!! Highly recommend the Dark Skies beer! The owner gave us all a free slice of pizza! That was pretty rad!

Mackenzie Brewing is a welcome addition bringing quality craft-brewed beer to the Valley Park area. Located in a small strip mall just off I-44 and 141 Mackenzie is located right between Sugarfire BBQ and Psghettis Pasta & Sandwiches, which I will talk more about later.

Mackenzie Brewing has a heavy focus on Belgian and High Gravity beers. One of my favorite beers here has to be the Belgian Quad, which clocks in at a whopping 12.5% ABV, although, despite the high ABV, it's still quite smooth. In addition to the Belgian and High Gravity beers, you might find an occasional surprise beer that you otherwise woudln't expect; recently, mine was the Tahitian Vanilla Porter and California Dreaming, which is their DDH West Coast Style IPA.

One downside about Mackenzie is that there is currently no food service; however, you can walk next door or call and order Sugarfire BBQ and Psghettis Pasta & Sandwiches and bring it into the tap room. Overall this is the perfect trifecta, beer, bbq, and pasta. There is something for everyone...

Distinct flavor of sanitizer again. This time in the wheat and also an IPA. In the keg as Jeffero-bro Doss does not rinse well.

His beers don't last long in the cooler. The volitiles in the beer go rather quick after he kegs it like hops aromatics. When newly kegged at the tap the taste and texture go okay. Give it a few weeks and you'll get a flat flavor. The lemon finish is off the wheat Jeffery has on tap now after a recent visit. Phenols, unwanted esters in the imperial IPA (yuck), and what seem as ketones. Somehow proteins mal-processed?

Unless that is sanitizer. I know sanitizer flavor as I home-brew for years now, and no longer make that mistake.

Jeffery Doss should get more training from someone like Dave Deaton and his Steampunk Brew Works. Though Dave's results are...
