Sunset On Presque Isle Marquette, Michigan I noticed the sign as we left the park after jumping off Black Rocks (see my other review) and thought I should come back one day. I’m so glad I made the effort! The evening turned windy, overcast, and unwelcoming. As we sat in the car deciding if we should abort the sunset mission—we glanced over so see the most spectacular sunset of my summer! Then of course the colors after the sunset were just as spectacular. An unforgettable evening! I plan on going again but next time I will plan a picnic and leave early enough to get a great parking spot, back in, and bring a jockey. And remember, dogs aren’t allowed out of vehicles in the park.

It is a nice city park. We rode our bicycles to then around it. There is a 3 mile loop road that is closed off to cars at times. There are plenty of pull out so cars car go around and the speed limit is 15 mph. Lots of shade for a hot sunny day. The break water at the entrance gives a great view of the 1912 iron ore loading docks. We even saw a freighter loading up. Sunset point had gorgeous shoreline views. The shores of Maine can only equal our Lake Superior shoreline. Lots of picnic area. At the end there is an ice cream store to reward any bike ride.

Went to Presque Isle for a walk. Did the 2 mile loop trail, which had a wooded path and a paved path. The path leads to the Black Rock Cliff jumping area. This is also an area with rocky beaches—bring your water shoes—but there is also sandy beach area by the banquet hall and bathrooms. There is a cute park with old fashioned play structures! I had a blast on the merry go round! There are also bike trails. There’s also a cute food store / stand for snacks.
