In early August, I had them inspect the woodstove that came with this house 8 years ago. Two young men came out, climbed on my roof and looked down my chimney. They said it was clean and did not need swept, and that it did not need a new liner. However; they flunked the woodstove that came with the house for continued use. They didn't know that I had the woodstove the business sold me several years back for my last home, in the garage. It had only been used a couple of years. I've now been waiting nearly a month for an accurate estimate on re-installation of the woodstove I bought from them, into a this home. I think they thought they'd sell me a new one. They said they could install this one if I could get it moved into the basement and the old one moved out. Done. A month ago. The first estimate they sent took over a week and two reminder calls, and included a chimney lining that I had already paid them $600 to find out that I didn't need. I reminded them of this two weeks ago, and have been waiting on the new estimate ever since. Apparently unless you buy a new stove each time you go back, you get passed up for other customers. Money has been sitting in the bank for this project. I may have to go elsewhere to actually have it done. It has been over a month since the chimney assessment. I realize they are busy, but I'm a nurse who just worked the entire pandemic. I didn't realize a basic, accurate estimate where the right and left hand are talking to each other would take a month to get. After multiple calls and emails, they get an online review now. I just want to be able to use my woodstove. It is getting cold, and we don't have a furnace. Update 2 years later: Buckeye in Toronto came down and installed my wood stove for 1/3 the estimate the Fireplace N Fixins gave me. My brother-in-law nearby needed his inspected, so scheduled the same day after I scheduled the installation of mine. Both were done within a week. I live 45-60 minutes from Buckeye. Highly recommend them over...
Read moreFirst let me say the fireplace is fixed and as of now working! Thank you to the technician/repair guy!! He was very knowledgeable and knew what he was doing. The thermocouple that was ordered was not the correct part. Wrong thermocouple for our fireplace. So that could not be installed unfortunately. There was a problem disconnecting a bushing because the repairman did not have the right tool for that job. So my husband drove into town to true value and bought $70 of tools needed to be able to get the job done. So the repair guy took the thermocouple back with him and said they would need to credit the part back to us. I was just disappointed the thermocouple was incorrect part because we wanted that replaced so we would not have a problem soon and have to pay again for another service call. The repair guy cleaned the fireplace again and said it was pretty dirty but the previous technician from your store told me they cleaned it when they came to service it and check it out to determine what was wrong. So us paying the $275 to have it serviced cleaned and checked apparently was not exactly done completely? All in all I am very happy our fireplace is fixed and working now and hopefully will continue working without an...
Read moreBought Our gas fireplace in Late September 2017, This purchase/installation has been a nightmare. We currently still don’t have a working gas fireplace. The service crew set appointments and you will wait all day and they won’t show up. But they do call at about 6 PM at night and say you need to call and talk to the office and they will reschedule. If you’re wanting a fireplace for the winter then you better start making your purchase in March. Buyer beware you have to have a ton of patients to deal with this company. I wish I could give them a half a star instead of one but I don’t have that option. Spent thousands on this fireplace not happy with the unprofessional...
