Do NOT use Lion Heart Floors!

Kyle is my neighbor and was a personal friend of my son. He promised me a good price and an effortless renovation on a bathroom project I took on for my husband who is a disabled veteran. We took on the bathroom renovation for his sake, and the project was partially funded with a Federal grant. Not only did Kyle continually delay providing a quote we needed to provide for the grant, he would say it was being worked on. Several weeks went on like this with excuses or dodges regarding the quote. This was the first red flag but we turned a blind eye.

When we finally did get the quote, it became clear that no one in his storefront seemed to know what products on display were actually available. We had to return several times to finally select tiles that were available because they were bought for another project. This was red flag two, but it was easily dismissed as being due to the supply conditions of the pandemic.

The worst was the hack he sent to do the “renovation”, a guy named Danny. If you do opt to use this company do not let him send you Danny and his crew. Do NOT let Danny into your home. There are other reviews here warning of Danny and I will add my warning to the list. He was marketed to us as Kyle’s finest tile guy (in Kyle’s own marketing as being his “chef’s kiss”) and that he would be able to do the whole renovation top to bottom. What a lie that was.

Until now I am convinced that nothing Danny did in that bathroom was correct and definitely not aesthetic. They claimed to us the thinset and grout would provide waterproofing but that is not true. Worst of all is Kyle insists he would “walk the job” with us at the end and correct errors with “punchout”. This is a dubious proposition at best given how poor and sloppy Danny’s craftsmanship is.

I was concerned initially about dust and instead of using an air scrubber they merely put a fan in the window and used this window to go in and out of the bathroom the point of damaging the windowsill. They also damaged my vanity which we were old they would wrap up and protect.

Finally, Danny stormed off after he was about to lay tile over the poorly done niche to hide his hack work and we told him not to do that. He left the bathroom a mess and also left a mess in our backyard. We were promised he would return the following day to clean up but he never did.

All of this may have been avoided if Kyle actually did as he promised and came to supervise the construction regularly. But he later failed to do this and when asked said that he had full confidence in Danny’s work and did not need to supervise him.

Kyle has refused to return our deposit on the grounds that he apparently has three attempts to make this right by law. Earlier he told us he had already spent the money on material, labor, and demolition.

All this took place over December and January. Since then Kyle has been attempting to contact us presumably to attempt to finish and had previously offered to send another crew to finish a job which he insists only has cosmetic flaws. It is clear the whole thing needs to be torn out and done again potentially down to the plumbing. We are still dealing with this mess.

Basically nothing he told us or promised us was true!

Kyle is a fine salesman but I would not trust a word he says. It seems this company’s method of righting their wrongs is the quick and easy cover up.

I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. Spare yourself the trouble and go to Floor and Decor. Also beware the positive reviews. Some of those are absolutely from personal associates and friends of the owner. If he would do this to a neighbor you’d be lucky if it doesn’t...

Started out great, receiving a quote from the owner to have our lower level done at a great price compared to everyone else who had given us a quote. Then we received a call from the office manager within a day or so telling us that the owner had 'under-quoted us'. Her comments were quite concerning as she told us the owner was 'wrong' and that he should not have given us that quote, making it sound like he was incompetent when it came to determining the costs and profits. In other words, he had given us the cost for the company to have the floors installed, without adding any mark-up. That alone should have scared us off, but we had really liked the owner. Very kind and seemed quite genuine. So we worked out a new price with the office manager and owner and were told told they would be out soon to install our floors. Everything was very timely, but we were a bit surprised to find out that a plumber would not be coming out to take the toilet off for the floor install. We had been told ahead of time that a plumber would be coming out to handle to removal and reinstall of the toilet, so this was also a concern. The floor ended up looking very good as they installed it, however, the lead installer ran into a problem with the reinstall of the toilet and then had to run to the hardware store. This was another red flag for us. Fast forward about 6 months and we started having issues with the toilet becoming unstable. Unfortunately around this time I had ruptured my Achilles and from that surgery ended up with a blood clot in my heart and lungs, literally almost dying. So during my recovery, which lasted for months, we could not afford to hire a plumber to come fix the toilet. Honestly, it was also not a priority during that time either. So, once we did finally get a plumber out, they showed us how the flooring installer had screwed up our toilet. We had the house built in 2018, and when the flooring installer came out, it was the first time that the toilet had ever been pulled, so this is how the plumber, as well as my wife and I, knew that it had been the flooring installer that had screwed up our toilet. It cost us over $300 to get the toilet fixed, so the plumbing company told us we should definitely contact the flooring company that had screwed up our toilet. So I contacted Lionheart Floors and the gentleman who answered the phone asked me to send an email with photos. I did, and never heard back. I tried contacting them multiple times through email and never received a response. I called two more times and was told they were looking into it, but again, could never get an answer or any assistance from them after their mistake. At this point I would definitely not recommend using this company. I have included photos of the broken flange and the attempt that the flooring installer made to 'fix' the problem, which resulted in a very unstable and...

The owner, Kyle, gave us a bid to install 1200+ square feet of wood-look porcelain tile. We were excited as he came across as very knowledgable and skilled...excellent salesperson. Little did we know that we would face 5+ weeks of our house torn up while Kyle sent us 3 different teams of workers who simply did not know how to install floor tile for a job of this magnitude. We had thinset and dust and drop clothes for weeks.

The first workers complained openly to us that Kyle had lied to them about the details of the job and were not going to make enough money. They began cutting tile, simply lying it out on the floor but never actually installing any, and never returned.

One week later, Kyle sent a handiman crew whom he had heard of but never actaully met. (We found this out later.) After installing over 200 square feet, it was clear the next day that these men did not have the experience necessary as their spacing was not consistent and there was a lot of tile lippage. When it became clear that it would need to be ripped up, these men took off as we waited for Kyle to come. He repeatedly said he was "on the way", when in fact he was not. More time passed...

The last crew, I was promised was Lion Heart's "finest and most skilled" tilers. They came out in a delapitated van with 2 men and their wifes. I was told originally it was only to tear up the last 200 sq ft. The day they came, they said they would only begin laying/scoping out the new job as they had time. My husband and I left for a few hours and came back to the removal of tile NOT COMPLETED and Danny on his second attempt to lay tile! (We found out that he had laid 50Sqft and pulled it all up, and tried again!!) Danny left angerly when we pointed out that he was not parallel with the wall. He left a large area of freshly spread thinset exposed and our home trashed with wet thinset and dust that had been tracked in/out of our home on shoes as people tried to rinse off tile from their first mistake. We called Kyle and he told us he was too busy to come out help us clean up. We spend 5 + hours cleaning ourselves since the only company we called said they would charge us $900 just to come out and it would probably be more.

Bottom line, Kyle continually lied to us and put us through the **ll for weeks and promised to pay us $900 for our cleaning. He continally delayed in refunding our deposit (of 1/2 the job bid) back and when he did finally give us a check, it was not cashable for several days. Of course, he never payed us for cleaning as he promised. I would not give this company any...

I would not give this company any business whatsoever.
