Mascoutah Community Lanes is my new favorite bowling alley in the area. It's a small town spot known for their mouthwatering pizza. There's only 8 lanes, which makes it feel a bit more intimate than the 25+ lanes at nearby locations. Though I've only been twice (first time was October 2024, second visit was May 2025), it hits right in the nostalgia. Make sure to call ahead to book your lane. There's a large selection of bowling ball styles and weights, bowling ball cleaners, lottery gaming room, claw machines, ice cream, a bar, a TouchTunes station, additional seating, clean restrooms, and old school computers displaying bowlers' scores. Staff was quick to resolve a bowling ball jam mid-game for us. Kathleen took good care of our group all night. We demolished a fried green bean order, a large pepperoni pizza, and a pin-drop pizza (bowling leaguers creation). Both pizzas were delicious. The dough is made fresh daily. I read online and heard from a local that the owner Dan used to run a bowling alley for professionals, but got caught up in the pizza-slinging game instead- now he runs Mascoutah Community Lanes. I didn't get the chance to have him confirm or deny, but I think I want to keep believing this legend. I'll definitely keep eating his 'za!
Carry-out customers were walking in all night, grabbing their pizzas to enjoy at home. They do leagues and parties as well.
I spent $25 for my Friday night fun- split two pizzas, had a few drinks, and played two games.
Side note: the decorations at Halloween last year (2024) were so fun!! Will probably make an annual trip out there just for the...
Read moreI recently visited this bowling alley for the first time and was quite disappointed. We arrived just 20 minutes after opening, only to be turned away because there were no lanes available. The staff mentioned that a bowling league was scheduled for later that evening, which left us confused about why we couldn't bowl right away.
Additionally, the entrance could use a serious update, and there was no one at the counter to assist or provide guidance. Overall, it was a frustrating experience, and I left feeling lost and uncertain about the whole setup. Maybe I should have reserved a lane or called and asked, however the staff didn’t provide any guidance and I turned to the Facebook page. We drove over to Dogwood Social House in Ofallon to get our...
Read moreGreat little alley. Lanes seem to be in good condition, didn't see any ball hop across first 4 lanes I observed. Older equipment but in good working order. Pizza is great, folks that run the place are kind, knowledgeable and gave my sister a solid deal with a somewhat crazy birthday party (logistics and arrival time -wise). Unfortunately the man there used to run a pro shop but got too busy with the pizza slinging! Seen several folk come and go...
